Cherrydale Happenings
Building AccessOur school opens for supervised arrival of students at 8:45am at the double doors leading into the Multi-Purpose Room. If you arrive earlier than the supervisory staff, then you must stay with your student(s) until the double doors open.
Access to the building is restricted to Staff, Students and cleared Volunteers. If you intend to chaperone field trips or otherwise be in the school while children are present, you must be an approved volunteer. The process can take a couple of weeks, so don’t wait until you need clearance to apply. If you want to register to volunteer, please click https://www.steilacoom.k12.wa.us/site/Default.aspx?PageID=84
Before/After CareIf you need to leave your child earlier than 8:45 or pick up after 3:35, you may want to enroll them in the Before/After Care program through the Steilacoom Community Center. For more information, you can contact Marianne Manning at 253-581-1076 or email at [email protected].
Attendance and Changes to dismissal procedureAttendance and dismissal changes can be emailed to Sharon Carpenter at [email protected], or called in to the school voicemail (253) 983-2500. When leaving a message about your child, please make sure that you say the teacher name, and your child’s first and last name clearly. Changes to Dismissal must be made no later than 45 minutes before end of day. After that and we cannot guarantee that we have received the message and can get the message to the teacher in time. Your child’s class might be at specialist (Library, Music or PE) at the end of the day with no plans to return to the class before dismissal. The earlier we have the information, the better.
Lunch AccountsIf you have questions about the School Lunch Program, or want to pay on your student’s account, you can do that from the Steilacoom School District Website, under Parent Resources, choose Food Services. Or follow this link https://www.steilacoom.k12.wa.us/site/Default.aspx?PageID=53
Thank you for your cooperation and patience as we find our rhythm this 2019-2020 school year
