WORLD MISSION SUNDAY

Children’s Liturgy is in need of more parents to lead the program. The program is all prepared, and all that is required is to gather the children and lead them through it. We have 2 mothers who have agreed to provide for Children’s Liturgy, but we need to have a team of (at least) four so that each leader would be responsible for one Sunday a month. Volunteers would need to have successfully completed the Diocesan Safe Environment Protocol. To volunteer or for more info contact Allison Knittig [email protected] or the parish office.

CARDS FOR KIDS

At the initiative of Pope Pius XI in 1926, the second last Sunday during October became known as World Mission Sunday. Catholics throughout the world are invited to pray for and give to the Missions. The collection this Sunday is organized by the Pontifical Missions Society. The funds collected assist some 1,250 mission dioceses under the responsibility of the Congre-gation for the Evangelization of Peoples. As agreed by the Holy See and the Bishops of Canada, a portion of the Canadian contributions to this collection assists six mission dioceses in Northern Canada.

OUR PILGRIMAGE OF FAITH

Our Diocesan Pilgrimage of Faith Appeal is progressing well thanks to the parishioners who have helped us raise $ 22,175 after 2 weeks. Those who have not yet participated can do so today. No gift is too small. If you are concerned about issues like the shortage of priests, youth ministry, catholic schools and capital maintenance, now is your opportunity to help by supporting the services and ministries that are assisted through the Pilgrimage of Faith Appeal. Envelopes and pledge cards can be found in the foyer.

USHERS NEEDED

We are looking for more Ushers/Greeters for each Mass, but especially for the 10:30 Mass. If you would be interested in meeting new people and assisting please contact the parish Office, [email protected] 250-860-6776

Cards for Kids will be selling shopping/gift cards after the masses on October 29/30. Up to 10% of sales goes to St. Joseph School’s operating costs—at no extra cost to you! Questions? Email: [email protected].

Rachel’s Corner “Before this retreat I could only imagine my child. I was able to get all the hatred out and begin to forgive. Now I even value my husband sitting here beside me. He left work behind to be together here. I was terrified to come and thanks to God after 18 years it is all out now. I feel light and with no more burden. I was broken and now I have been made whole again”

Do you feel the weight of the burden inside and wish you had a way to be free? Come on a Rachel’s Vineyard™ Retreat and let Him make you whole again.
