October 2020
A Note from Your CYC…
October is one of my favorite months. Leaves
are changing, the air gets crisp, combines
harvesting fields, AND we celebrate 4-H!
National 4-H Week is the first full week of
October each year. Many people will celebrate
across the country and I hope you will too.
Whether that’s wearing a 4-H/green shirt next
Wednesday, finding a pumpkin in our
scavenger hunt, sharing photos on social
media, or talking to a friend about joining, all
are ways of celebrating.
I hope to see you and your family- safely- at
Fire Up on Sunday, October 4 for trivia and
outdoor games. This will be an event to kick
off National 4-H Week!

Jones, and Clinton counties. Remember,
officer training is for ALL officers, regardless
of years you’ve been an officer. We can all
learn something!

Recognition Night Update
Out of an abundance of caution, our 4-H staff
has chosen to modify our traditional
recognition night to limit mingling between
school districts.
Plan A
- Amanda will visit your club in Nov/Dec to
present awards. She’ll bring treats too!
- Please invite family members and remember
our physical distancing guidelines.
- A youth council member will join to help.
- Certain awards will have a video presented
too so all 4-H members can view.
Plan B
- If things change and we can’t host club
meetings safely, the youth council and
Amanda will host a recognition night on
Facebook/YouTube Live. We hope you’ll join!
- Record books and awards will be available
for pick up in different town locations after the
ceremony. Stay tuned for details.

agreeing to this consent and all consents.
• Some features are just not ready yet but they will be.
