A MESSAGE FROM PASTOR PRIGGE
Willing? A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on his knees, "If you are willing, you can make me clean." {41} Filled with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!" -Mark 1:40-41 NIV After reading this verse, I’m inclined to spend more time talking about the leper than Je-sus. I’m impressed with his approach. He comes to Jesus with a dire need. Leprosy was a death sentence. He drops to the ground and though the text says he begged, his words sound almost matter of fact. “If you are willing, you can make me clean.” The leper was right. It’s a simple statement of fact. The question? Was Jesus will-ing? Jesus had compassion. Jesus always has compassion on those who suffer, but some-times it’s God’s will to heal and sometimes it isn’t. In this case Jesus was willing, but back to the leper. His request is dripping with both confidence and humility. He knows that Jesus has the ability and he leaves the matter to the Lord’s discretion. When it comes to earthly matters take a lesson from the leper. Be bold and confident in your prayers and leave room for God’s will to be done. We all want God’s will to be done…isn’t that why we’re praying in the first place? In the peace that only Jesus can give, Pastor Prigge Brendan Prigge Pastor Office: 952-934-0956 [email protected] www.victorylcms.org

Strategic Planning Event — VLC is having a strategic planning event on Sunday, Octo-ber 16th from 11-3 at the Gold Nugget in Minnetonka. Strategic planning is a manage-ment activity that organizations use to set priorities, focus energy and resources, strengthen operations, ensure that employees and other stakeholders (our congregation) are working toward common goals, and assess and adjust the organization's direction in response to a changing environment. Charlie and Aubree Yunker will be leading us through this event and the Board of Directors is asking you to be a part of it. There are multiple ways to get involved. Please consider joining us in one or more of the follow-ing ways. As a church body, we are all invested in Victory and hearing all voices will only make this event stronger.
Ways to get involved:
Attend the event — We have 30 seats available for congregation members to join us at the Gold Nugget Restaurant on October 16th and participate in developing our strategic plan. No experience necessary and lunch will be available at your own cost. Sign up online here or at the back kiosk at church.
Complete the congregational survey — This helps with the pre-work involved in the strategic plan as we work to identify our strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. The more people we have complete this survey the better, so we encourage everyone to get involved in this. The survey can be done using this link http://tinyurl.com/VLCStategicPlanningSurvey or paper forms are available at the back kiosk and can be put in the Yunker's mailbox.
Join the prayer team — God gives us wisdom and guidance through prayer. We want this strategic plan to be blessed by God and be in line with the plan He has already laid out for VLC. Involvement would be receiving a weekly email of things to indi-vidually pray for regarding the event. There will also be a prayer team meeting the morning of October 16th if you wish to join in to incorporate prayer. Sign up online here or at the back kiosk at church
If you have any questions, please reach out to a Board of Directors member, Aubree or Charlie Yunker or Pastor.

If you sell something (say Mary Kay, Pampered Chief, Tupperware, whatever!) please consider having a table at the boutique to show off your goods! Other ways to get involved? Help with refreshments, set up and take down, and most importantly come and bring your friends!!! If you are interested in participating as a seller or vol-unteering to help, see Aubree Yunker.
LWML Rally — during the October 8th Rally we will be tying lap robes that will be given away to mili-tary veterans of our Minnetonka Zone Circuit churches. About 30 have already been made already, but we need 15 more. If you have any red, white, blue, stars, stripes, or any patriotic fabric or quilt bat-ting laying around your house that you are not using, please let Laurie know. If you would be willing to donate funds to purchase the necessary items, that would also be helpful. If you would be inter-ested in helping to assemble, please let her know too. We need cutters (no sewing experience re-quired), designers and sewers. Contact Laurie Bromenshenkel at [email protected] or 612-963-3462.
