    2014 is the 500th anniversary of the

    birth of John Knox,

    the founder of Presbyterianism. John

    Knox and his Presbyterian denomi-

    nation spread from Scotland to

    North America and now around the

    world.

    On Reformation Day, October 26, the Christian Nur-

    ture Commission will provide a Scottish lunch and

    program after worship to celebrate John Knox andour Presbyterian heritage. Please join us!!

    20 and 21. There are many and I dont

    want to forget anyone in a list of names.

    Once again, Central hospitality was at its

    best. We especially appreciate Lant Davis

    for his tireless efforts to prepare and host

    the event as well as develop the coopera-

    tive ministries of the 7thStreet churches.

    Book Shoppe

    It's time to begin perusing your book-shelves for books you no longer want orneed. The Book Shoppeladies are begin-ning to gather books for the saleon November 1st. Please bring your booksto the church library or Sarahs office, and the Bazaar

    Book Ladies will take it from there. If you cannot getthem to the church, please call one of us and we will beglad to pick them up. If you do take them to the church,please give one of us a call so that we may store themout the way of Sarah or Sunday school attendees.

    Seventh Cents Youth Group

    September has been a beautiful month. The wonderful weather coupled with awesome youthactivities has kept us all busy. Regular youth meetings are now in progress. Keep an eye on

    the calendar for activities for each week. The middle school youth have begun discussing ourcall to follow Jesus, while high school youth are discussing both current events and the life of

    Jesus. All youth are welcome to join and bring a friend. Holypalooza was a great event as ex-pected. Thank you to all the youth and other volunteers who made it possible.

    Tiffany will begin maternity leave on or before October 12. During this time, youth ac-tivities will continue as normal under the leadership of Erin Pugh. Erin already works tirelesslyas a youth volunteer and is much loved by our youth. Tiffany plans to return on January 1,2015. If you have any questions during this time, feel free to direct them to Pastor Jimmy,Pastor Lant, or Erin.

    Upcoming Youth Events:

    October 5: Normal Youth Meeting at CentenaryOctober 12: Normal Youth Meeting at CentenaryOctober 17-18 6 pm-9 am: Princess Party/Boys Night. All children ages 4 through

    high school are invited. Girls will meet at Central for dinner and an evening of pamper-ing. Boys will meet at Centenary for dinner and fun games.

    October 19 12:30-3:30 pm: 7thCents Fall Celebration. Meet us at the DogwoodShelter in Hawthorne Park for an afternoon of games and a Bible scavenger hunt. Youth fami-lies are welcome to join as well.

    October 26: Youth Movie Night at Centenary. All youth will meet from 5-7:30

    pm for dinner, a movie, and discussion.

    Join your Central Presbyterian church family on Friday night

    for a delicious dinner prepared by our own church cooks. Youll

    have an opportunity to preview and purchase bazaar items before the doors open to the

    public on Saturday morning.

    There will be a lively auction with interesting items to bid on. Paid dinner reservations

    may be made after worship on October 26thand November 2nd.

    Adults -$10 Middle/High School -$5 Elementary and younger -Free

    Saturday, November 8th 8:00 a.m.-3:00p.m.

    Start your BAZAAR shopping with a hearty all-you-can-eat

    breakfast prepared by CPC men! Food will be served from 8:00

    -10:00 a.m. The cost is $5 per person or $10 per family.

    Bazaar crafts, books, household items, puzzles and games will be

    sold throughout the day. *

    Hungry shoppers can enjoy LUNCHat the CAF from 11:00 a.m.- 2 p.m. Tickle

    your taste buds with tasty treats!

    *Gentlyused household items, books, puzzles and games may now

    be brought to the church.
