The content of the Audit Report provided by Mr George Lopez, Honorary Auditor

dated 23 August 2012 “RE: 2011/2012 AUDIT REPORT

I have audited the financial records of your Association for the year ending 29 February 2012.

The Honorary Treasurer is responsible for the maintenance of adequate account-ing records and the financial statements have been prepared on that basis.

My audit included, inter alia, a test of individual transactions to the record-keeping system used by the club. This included ensuring that moneys banked

reconciled to supporting documents of original entry and that cheques paid were supported by appropriate documentation. I have sought clarification where ap-propriate and have been satisfied with the responses provided.

As a result of my tests, I am satisfied that the cash transactions have been ac-counted for satisfactorily and that, within acceptable guidelines as to materiality,

the financial statements represents a true and fair view of the commercial activi-ties and financial position of the Association as at 29 February 2012.” ________________________________________________________________

BE A STAR!

IT IS THE AEAWA AWARDS TIME !

Nominations open to current financial members for the following AEAWA

Awards:

IDA DA SILVA AWARD FOR THE ARTS

ANDREW CLARKE AWARD FOR SPORT

IVAN RICHARDS COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD

The awards are an established tradition in AEAWA and are

awarded in recognition of the nominee’s contribution in the

field of the arts (including music, drama, dance and other forms of artistic expression), sport

or community service. A monetary payment is made to the recipient of the award.

You may have been taking dance classes for the past 8 years and have had many public per-

formances or you may have started learning an instrument for a couple of years, it does not

matter. Give it a go and apply for the Ida da Silva Award. Similarly, you may have won

many sporting accolades or might have none but have made strong contributions in sport.

Again, it does not matter - make that application for the Andrew Clarke Award. All applica-

tions will be given due consideration by the AEAWA Awards Committee.

The Ida da Silva Award for the Arts and the Andrew Clarke Award for Sport are open to chil-

dren from 7 to 17 years old who are or whose parents are current financial members. The

Ivan Richards Community Service Award is open to youth 15 years old and above and to

adults who have made contributions in community service. If the nominee is between 15 to

17 years old, the nominee or the nominee’s parents must be current financial members. If the

nominee is 18 years and above, the nominee must be a current financial member.

The application forms are available in the “Download” webpage found on the

AEAWA website http://www.aeawa.asn.au. Application forms will also be

available at all AEAWA Sunday Lunches prior to the closing date. If you would

like a form emailed or posted to you, please email to commu-

[email protected] or call Kevin de Souza at 9325 1700.

The decision of the Awards Committee is final.

All applications must be received by the closing date which is 31 January 2013.

Details of how to submit the application form are found in the form itself.
