DIRECTOR’S MESSAGEDIRECTOR’S MESSAGE

Hi my name is Robin Schiavone, Store Director for Raley’s on Sand Creek Rd. I have

been with Raley’s 31 years, the last three in Brentwood. I am one of the newest members

to the Board of Directors for the Brentwood Chamber of Commerce. I am excited to be

working in the Community in which I live and I was just as excited when I was asked to

be a part of the team for the Brentwood Chamber. It takes a team for us to be successful,

whether it is in our work place, community service, activities and yes, our home life.

I have been given many opportunities over the years with Raley’s and grateful for all

of them to achieve different successes. Whether it is on a focus group committee, part of

a new leadership program or just running day-to-day operations as a Store Director, there

is always a team working together to support you in achieving success.

For Food, For Family, For You is our way of evolving to fit the lifestyle and needs for

our customers at this economic time. Being locally owned and operated is not enough in

these economic times. We need to evolve to fit the needs of our customers. The ever

evolving grocery industry compels us to keep up with the ever changing times, by

providing our customers with health conscious meals at money saving pricing. In

challenging economic times, as other stores close, we are excelling at our new customer

service programs as well as old ones that are engrained in us from our founder Mr. Raley

since 1935.

* Raley’s Dailies to help out in difficult economic times.

* Highly encourage everyone to sign up at Raley’s.com for our weekly e-coupons and

Friday Freebies.

I am really proud to be a part of the Brentwood Chamber team and the opportunities

that are given to be involved with our community. I hope to be a part of change,

development, growth and success over the next few years as a Director for the Brent-

wood Chamber of Commerce.

As a Business Owner, Manager or Director you can be a part of this team by being a

Brentwood Chamber Member. You will gain networking opportunities, build relation-

ships that open many doors for your business, community and home life. Be a part of

that team in achieving success with our community that we play in, work in and live in.

The number one question every Realtor hears is “How is the Market?” Number two

is: “Should I buy, sell or wait?” Here are my simplified answers:

The current economy has created financial hardship on many of our neighbors,

families and friends. The market bubble has created a hardship very few of us were

prepared for. While no one has a crystal ball, I believe there is a silver lining.

Property is more affordable than it has been in 40 years.

Mortgage interest rates are at the lowest level in 30 years.

Housing affordability has dipped to pre-housing bubble levels while rents have

stayed the same or increased. Home prices are expected to rise in 2013 due to fewer

distressed sales and impending housing shortage.

Many renters who purchase a home in this market, are getting a mortgage payment

less than their former rent. This is without the additional tax benefit. Investors are

finding with today’s prices they can purchase a home that will immediately have

cash flow.

Banks are being more cautious about “dumping” homes on the market. The number

of distressed sales has slowed.

Buyers are excited to see a regular sale. Many of these “regular sales” have multiple

offers and are selling quickly.

Short sales have become much easier than just a year ago. The short sale process has

become more predictable and faster. No longer do we expect to wait 6 to 9 months

to get an answer from the bank to see if they will consider a buyer’s offer.

If you are looking to buy, I would not wait. If you wait for the perfect opportunity it

will be gone before you know it. If you are considering short selling your home,

give me a call. Don’t wait until the bank is breathing down your neck. If you have

questions about buying or selling a home, please give me a call. I can be reached at

(925) 513 -2331 or [email protected].
