For as long as anyone except Mrs. Hotson can remem-ber, Collinsville Christian Acad-emy has ordered its lunches from multiple local restaurants. However, this year, the school has decided to order lunches from Domino’s Pizza down the road.

This program is, like the old new lunch program, still healthier than what it has been in the past. The change in the pro-gram was caused by students expressing concerns with the menu and small portion sizes of

the last lunch program. This new program is still on the healthy side, offering a choice of salad or fruit every day. Instead of order-ing a month ahead of time, stu-dents can order a week before their meal for five dollars. For those students that forget their lunch, lunches can be ordered on the day of the lunch for an extra fifty cents. Elementary stu-dents can order a smaller portion of food t a reduced cost.

The new menu offers the same choices for everyday of the week. Mondays offer a choice of

either a ham and cheese or Ital-ian eight inch sub sandwich with potato chips and either apple-sauce, pudding, or jello. Tues-days are pasta days, with a choice of either pasta in meat sauce, alfredo, or macaroni and cheese with a side salad and breadsticks. Wednesdays, the school will have fundraiser lunches. Thursdays’ lunches standardly come with five pieces of boneless chicken, cheesy breadsticks, and a choice of ap-plesauce, pudding, or jello. How-ever, students may order up to

If you’ve ever met Ryan Lane, then you most likely know a little about him. But do you

really know him? Everybody knows that he’s the son of Mr. Lane, but did you know that

Ryan has been here eight years? He transferred here from

Cornerstone Christian School in the fourth grade, and he is

more than happy to be graduating this year. If you’ve ever talked

to Ryan, even for a little bit, you’ve probably realized that his

favorite sport is baseball. When asked what his favorite pastime

other than baseball was, he answered, “I would say riding my

bike, but not anymore since I got hit by a car.” Ryan enjoys long

walks on short subdivisions, and his fa- vorite color is Kentucky

blue. His favorite songs are “Dirt Road Anthem” by Jason Aldean

and “Girls’ Night Out (GNO)” by Han- nah Montana (Miley Cyrus).

Ryan prefers his lunch class to all others, and when asked about being the only senior on

the soccer field, he patted JJ’s back and said, “It’s more responsibility on me, but I have

great junior leaders, like the Rylester.” Ryan plans to attend college somewhere and double

major in accounting and business management. He says that he will miss playing sports with

his friends the most, and when asked to leave a quote for all the students, friends, and

family members he’s leaving behind, he said, “Nobody knows what it means, but it sounds

provocative. I like it.”

The Warriors soccer team traveled to Decatur, Illi-nois on September 30 and October 1. They played Deca-tur Christian and LSA. The team finished the trip with one win and one loss.

During the first game against Decatur Christian, both teams went back and forth scoring in the first half. The Warriors completely out-

played the opposing team the whole game, but unfortunately they came on the short end of the score. They lost four to two, and the two goals were scored by junior JJ Russell.

The Warriors shook off the loss and enjoyed the ho-tel, where they laughed, played, and had fun in the pool and the hot tub. They had fun but were determined

not to lose the next day. They started and finished the game strong and won convincingly 8-0. Junior and captain, Jaather Adams scored four goals. Senior David Hartman scored his first goal of the season. Also sophomores BJ Brinkley, Jake Rogier, and Austin Fogg scored a goal.

The CCA Cheerleading

squad this year consists of

only five girls,

freshman Lydia

Stark, eighth

grader Mackenzie

Wiedle, seventh

grader Jada

Childs, and sixth

graders Elodie

Compton and

Sharnece Latham. The squad

does not have a cheer cap-

tain yet. Their team is being

coached by Ashley Morgan

and Danielle McCina. All girls

who went out for cheer-

leading made the team,

and they practice during

the week. The girls are

going to cheer at basketball

games and future pep rallies.

Elodie, along with all of the

other girls,

believe it’s fun

to do. Lydia says

she has more

fun with a

smaller squad.

They only have

four cheers and

she doesn’t have a fa-

vorite cheer yet. Lydia

decided to join cheer-

leading because she can

“smile as much as [I]

want” and it makes her

happy doing it.
