PRO-LIFE BABY SHOWER

FOR THE UNBORN

In support of the Archdiocese of Boston’s Pro-Life Office and its

Pregnancy Help Office, the Catholic Community of Billerica will be

holding a Baby Shower throughout the month October to assist

pregnant women and new mothers in need. Parishioners are

encouraged to take a baby item tag from the baskets found at the

entrances of all three churches THIS weekend; purchase the item

and return it to the receptacle provided in the Church beginning the weekend of October 19 and 20. We

ask that you kindly return items unwrapped. Please note: we can only accept NEW items. If you would like

to make a monetary donation, please make all checks payable to “Fund for the Unborn”. Thank you in

advance for your kindness and generosity.

UPDATE to St. Andrew’s Office Hours After two months of having Tuesday office hours, we have determined that we

would better serve the parishioners of St. Andrew having the office open on Fridays

as we head into the weekend. Friday Office hours will begin on November 1. Please know that Heather Murphy can also be reached at 978-663-8816, Monday-

Thursday at St. Theresa for any concerns or needs that may arise.

St. Mary Women’s Club is planning their

“Autumn Craft Fair” on Saturday, October 26

from 9am-3pm in the Church Hall. Gifts will

be available to purchase from many vendor booths

which will be selling unique items, toys, can-

dles, art, clothing, jewelry, home decor, wood

products, glass, custom candles, food, cards and

exciting merchandise not found in the local stores.

In addition, a 50/50 Raffle will be held along with other special raffles throughout the day. Rental

space is filling up quickly. If you are a crafter or

vendor and are interested in renting a table at the

It’s Convenient and Easy to Give Online! Online Giving is a great tool available to all for making contri-

butions and paying for events and Faith Formation. In today’s

high-tech world, how many times do you break out your

checkbook? Or might you prefer another method, such as

Online Giving. This is fast, simple and has a lot of positives. Giving online allows you to make a choice to

give, you can set up your basic information that can be saved, and also make recurring weekly, bi-weekly, or

monthly donations. How you set it up is up to you! All collections are available to give to as well as items

such as Religious Education.

There is no need to choose one or the other. You can give online and also give at the time of the collection.

Also, if you receive Weekly Envelopes, remember that if you give online—just check off the box which says

“ I Give Electronically” and put your envelope in the basket. There are spiritual benefits of online giving.

These include the conviction to give when you want, the opportunity to give to the fund or collection you

desire, and the priority to make the decision to give.

It’s convenient and easy! It also helps the parish to manage its cash flow, especially during bad weather or

vacation times. Go to billericacatholic.org and under Quick Links choose Online Giving - then select your

A New Outlook On The Way We Report Giving At the beginning of each month, we will have a monthly report in the bulletin showing the Offertory for the previous month. This will more accurately portray the actual amounts collected in each parish (through online giving, parish envelopes being offered at other parishes—being transferred to the home parish, etc.). Until the end of the year, we will also continue to record the weekly amounts collected. As of January 2020, the offertory will begin to be reported in the bulletin monthly.

proclaims, “Take the word of God with you as you go. Take the seeds of

God’s word and let them grow.”

We are again preparing to travel to Washington DC with a group of young

people to stand up for the dignity of human life, but especially life at its earli-

est and most vulnerable stage, as a fetus in development. These last few years

we have received donations in various amounts to offset the costs of this trip.

As we strive to grow this program and make it more affordable and accessi-

ble, we need your assistance. Please find a sponsorship form at the entrance

of each parish to learn more about the history and costs associated with the

Witness to Life Pilgrimage. Donations can be placed in a separate envelope in

the collection basket, or dropped off at the Religious Education offices at St.

New England Pediatric Care

Last weekend, members of our

BCRE program delivered over

500 toiletry and personal care items to our neighbors at

NEPC in North Billerica. The

items were donated by the

teens and families in our Path-

finder (Grade 5-6), Navigator (Grade 7-8) and

Home Study (Grade 6-8) Religious Education Pro-

gram. NEPC is a long term care facility for children

and young adults. Those who delivered the items

were given a chance to meet a few of the resi-

dents. The staff was overwhelmed by the generos-

ity of our teens.
