Eligibility requirements for The Es El Momento Scholarship applicaAon: 1. Interested students need to first go online and then register2. Applicant must be of LaAno/Hispanic heritage3. Minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale4. First generaAon college student5. Have not already earned a bachelor’s degree6. VerificaAon of Family Income documents7. Three Essay Responses (400 to 600 words each) : a. Tell us about your academic/career short-‐term and long-‐term goals. How has your Hispanic heritage influenced these goals?b. Describe your parAcipaAon in extracurricular acAviAes (community service, volunteer work, employment, school clubs, sports, family, church, etc.). What have you learned from your experience(s)?c. Describe a recent academic challenge you have faced. Explain how you overcame it. Univision, the dominant Spanish-‐language network in the United States has begun a scholarship called The Es El Momento Scholarship which will be available as of October 21, 2013. The Es El Momento Scholarship will be open to all students of LaAno/Hispanic heritage regardless of whether they are US ciAzens or undocumented. The amount awarded for each scholarships is approximately $5,000. Please share this important informaAon with students, parents and educators.

Chef Aldo studied at Le Cordon Bleu Peru. After working as a line cook in the Le Cordon Bleu restaurant, he then moved to Miami, FL to work as a banquet cook at the Four Seasons Hotel. He returned to Peru and continued to work in the hotel industry as an Executive Chef. In 2009 Chef Aldo started with Sodexo at the Catholic University of Peru where he was the Catering Chef. He returned to Florida in 2010 to work at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in various positions. Chef Aldo again returned to Peru and Sodexo in 2011. He
Spain where he demonstrated Peruvian cuisine. Chef Aldo has been part of the Sodexo Dakar Rally team for 2 years, 2012 and 2013.
