THE NEXT GENERATION IN DENTAL IMPLANTS
|02
Current dental implant designs are either tapered and
pressure threaded into the osteotomy (which can lead
to pressure necrosis if over torqued), or are parallel
walled implants that feature a passive placement into
the prepared osteotomy.
OCO Biomedical’s Dual Stabilization® dental implants
are the Next Generation in Dental Implants. Our im-
plant’s unique body design coupled with a minimally
invasive placement procedure creates tension (not
pressure) on the bone at placement. OCO Biomedical
implants offer exceptionally high implant stability at
placement which is a critical success factor during the
early healing process of osseointegration.
A History of Innovation
OCO Biomedical has been creating cutting edge
products for over 30 years. Since we patented the
O-Ball over-denture attachment system in 1980 we
have been an integral part of the dental implant com-
munity. Over the years we have continually developed
new implant systems and have refined our placement
protocol to be a simple and reliable technique for any
dentist. Our innovative nature continues with newer
patent-pending features like the Bull Nose Auger™ tip.
The future has just begun. Our slogan says it all; we
really are The Next Generation in Dental Implants.

DUAL STABILIZATION®
With the innovative Dual Stabilization® com-
bination of our patent-pending Bull Nose
Auger™ tip, Mini Cortic-O Thread™ and Ma-
chined Divergent Platform, OCO Biomedical
implants fixate into the bone providing high
initial stability and allow for Selective Loading
options.
Bull Nose Auger™ tip
The patent pending Bull Nose Auger™ tip con-
denses and mechanically locks into the bone by
pulling bone up around the apex, creating tension
between the tip and divergent platform, promot-
ing an influx of bone growth elements around the
implant body.
Mini Cortic-O Thread™
Stability at the top of the implant is enhanced
by the Mini Cortic-O Thread™ that locks into the
crestal bone, preserving the bone.
Embedded Tapered Platform™
The Embedded Tapered Platform™ provides an
anchor point for the Bull Nose Auger™ tip to pull
against while also providing a tissue/implant seal
with the surrounding gingiva. All OCO Biomedical
Implant platforms have a 32xx machined surface
and are not polished. This allows for variable posi-
tioning of the implant to solve conditions of bone
irregularities.

WE PROVIDE
Comprehensive Product Offering
OCO Biomedical offers a comprehensive array of
implants designed and manufactured to give doctors
superior performance and profitability. The OCO im-
plant range includes small diameter implants for thin
ridge applications, larger diameter one piece implants
available in Crown & Bridge and O-Ball prosthetic
heads, and two-stage implants available with multiple
prosthetic abutment options for fixed and removable
prosthesis. We also proudly distribute Aseptico drill-
ing units and surgical handpieces.
Titanium Nitride Coated Top
The superior portion of the implant and many of our
abutments are titanium nitride treated resulting in a
gold appearance for increased esthetics upon restora-
tion.
Internal Connection
The TSI, ERI & Macro™ two-stage implants have an
internal 8° Morse Taper connection which guides the
abutment into the implant and creates a cold weld
lock with non-indexed stock titanium abutments,
eliminating any potential lateral movement. Splines
are also integrated within the internal connection for
multiple indexing options with two-piece abutments.

IMPLANTFEATURES

Self-Tapping Body Design
The Dual Stabilization® implant body creates a tapping
pattern in bone when threaded for an enhanced me-
chanical lock in the surrounding bone. The Bull Nose
Auger™ tip will not proceed any deeper than the initial
pilot drill and will lock into the base of the osteotomy.
Grit Blasted Surface
The proprietary OCO Surface Treatment greatly in-
creases implant surface porosity and increases overall
surface area for optimal bone growth and stability.
However, the patent-pending Bull Nose Auger™ tip is
left with a machined finish to preserve apical pur-
chase and enhance the tip’s capacity to pull bone up
and around the threads.
Logical Progression
One Body; Infinite Placement Possibilities – Our im-
plant design employs one implant body design to pre-
dictably work in all areas of the mouth. With the OCO
Biomedical System, it is easy to progress from our
3.0mm I-Mini® implants to 5.0mm ERI implants using
the same simple, reliable placement protocol. Clini-
cians can choose either a one or two stage design for
case specific indications.

Selective Loading and High Torque Capability
All Dual Stabilization® one-piece and two-stage im-
plants are capable of being immediately loaded if the
torque reads greater than 35 Ncm in the maxilla and
40 Ncm in the mandible. Obtaining greater than 40
Ncm of torque at placement is not unusual; in fact, we
encourage the high torque reading for superior implant
stability at the time of placement. This allows for “se-
lective loading” options: Immediate loading or delayed
loading at any preferred time after placement.
Warning: Do not relieve the implant of torque (back off) if the Ncm
torque reading is greater than 40 Ncm or the unique feature of the
Dual Stabilization® implant will be lost!
Minimally Invasive Surgery
For a minimally invasive, flapless surgery, a tissue
punch is needed to access the bone non-invasively.
Instead of using a manual tissue punch, the OCO Bio-
medical system employs a rotary tissue punch with a
removable guide pin. The guide pin follows the initial
pilot hole to ensure a perfect radius to fit the Embed-
ded Tapered Platform™ of the implant.
PLACEMENT & PROTOCOL FEATURES

Drill Stops
Drill stops prevent the pilot drill from exceeding the
desired depth. After using the tissue punch and coun-
tersink drill (if needed) or if a flap is reflected, engage
the pilot drill with the drill stop that corresponds with
the implant length (available in 8, 10, 12, and 14mm
lengths) and drill to bone level.
Countersink Drill
A crown and bridge abutment is broached into the
countersink drill so that you can place the platform of
the implant at the desired level. If the surgical den-
tist requires the interface to be closer to bone level,
the countersink is pressed downward into the bone
and the downward cutting drill will allow the platform
of the implant to be submerged at placement. The
countersink drill also modifies the bone in areas with
irregular bone heights.
Osteotomy Formers
Instead of using multiple downward cutting twist drills
to prepare an osteotomy, the OCO Biomedical Implant
System employs an irrigated tri-flute, side cutting
“Osteotomy Former” to shape the osteotomy. This
enables the implant to have maximized bone to thread
fixation at placement. The Osteotomy Former is a non
end-cutting and will drill no deeper than the pilot hole.
an internal 8° Morse Taper connection which guides
the abutment into the implant and creates a cold weld
lock with non-indexed stock titanium abutments, elimi-
nating any potential lateral movement. Splines are
also integrated within the internal connection for mul-
tiple indexing options with the two-piece abutments.
Ultem® Delivery Cap
The Ultem® Delivery Cap enables the doctor to re-
move the implant from the vial and take it directly
to the osteotomy. This improves tactility and helps
preserve sterility when initializing implant placement.
After a few threads engage the bone, the delivery cap
is disengaged by relieving it slightly counterclockwise
and pulling straight off. The implant may also be
placed with a handpiece if the doctor prefers.
