DESCRIPTION

An oil spill is when an amount of petroleum is realeased in an area where it can cause damage. Oil spills can happen in earth and in sea, but they mostly happen in the sea. If they happened in earth it would be so much easier to clean up. These disasters cause a lot of pollution.

CAUSES

• Negligent maintnance

• Natural causes

• Shipwrecking

• Openings in the sea floor

• Etc…

Page 5: Oceanic conservation

EFFECTS

• Birds die

• Fish die

• Oceans are polluted

• Beaches are contaminated

• People get sick if they consume this water

Page 6: Oceanic conservation

SOLUTIONS

• Cleaning up the seashore

• Especial vacuum cleaners

• Especial inflatables

• Prevention (maintain petroleum

drills at their best shape)
