This window is used to search for an oc-cupancy. Enter the information to search by, then click the Ok button. To search for all occupancies leave all field blank, then click the Ok button.

Header Information & Demographics Tab

Tabs – Click on the Tabs to move to different parts of the occupancy. Code Editor – Click code editor button to edit codes that appear in the drop down list.

BUSINESS NAME Definition The business name of the occupancy. Entry Enter the business name of the occupancy. STREET NUMBER Definition The number or milepost of the occupancy. Entry Enter the street number or milepost of the oc-cupancy. PREFIX Definition The directional descriptor appearing before a street or highway name. Entry For streets that have prefixes, such as N, SW, etc. Enter the prefix abbreviation. STREET OR HIGHWAY Definition The exact street or highway of the occupancy. Entry Enter Street name or Highway name of the oc-cupancy.

STREET TYPE Definition Descriptor appearing after a street or highway. Entry Enter the appropriate Street Type. SUFFIX Definition The directional descriptor appearing after a street or highway name. Entry Enter the suffix abbreviation., N, SW, etc. UNIT Definition The number of the specific unit, apartment, suite, or room number of the occupancy. Entry Enter the specific unit, apartment, suite, or room number of the occupancy. ZIP CODE Entry Enter the 5 digit Postal ZIP code for the loca-tion and press Tab Key. Software will auto-matically decode ZIP code. If not, enter city and state manually.

PHONE NUMBER Definition The telephone number including the area code of the occupancy. Entry Enter the occupancies telephone number, area code first. FAX NUMBER Definition The fax number excluding the area code of the occupancy. Entry Enter the occupancies fax number. DEMOGRAPHICS TAB (Occupancy)DEMOGRAPHICS TAB (Occupancy)DEMOGRAPHICS TAB (Occupancy) LOCATION INFORMATION District Definition An area identified by the fire department that is useful for administrative purposes. Entry Enter the “district” number of the occupancy. Census Tract Definition Census tract is a six-digit number assigned the United States Census Bureau that identifies an area of land within the United States. Not all jurisdictions have census tract numbers. Entry Enter the census tract number for the occu-pancy. If the occupancy is in an area where a census tract number has not been assigned, leave it blank. Parcel Number Definition Tax identification number for the lot or build-ing. Entry Enter the tax identification number for the lot or building.

County Definition The name of the county in which the occu-pancy is located. Entry Enter the name of the county where the occu-pancy is located. Township Definition Consists of 36 sections arranged in a 6 X 6 ar-ray, measuring 6 miles by 6 miles. Sections are numbered beginning with the northeast-most section, proceeding west to 6, then south along the west edge of the township and to the east. The last digit (decimal point) denotes quarter Townships represented by the following cod-ing: 1st Quarter- 3 2nd Quarter- 5 3rd Quarter- 7 4th Quarter- 0 Entry Enter the map coordinates for the given loca-tion. Longitude Definition The geographical location of the occupancy. Angular coordinates measured with respect to the center of the earth. The value is expressed in degrees and minutes. Entry Enter the longitude of the occupancy. Valid in-put for Longitude is the range -180 to 180 (east is positive). Latitude Definition The geographical location of the occupancy. Angular coordinates measured with respect to the center of the earth. The value is expressed in degrees and minutes. Entry Enter the latitude of the occupancy. Valid input for Latitude is the range -90 to 90.

CONSTRUCTION INFORMATION Occupancy Classification Definition Identifies the classification of the occupancy. Entry Enter the code or select from the drop down list that best describes the classification of the occupancy. SubClass Definition Identifies the subclass of an occupancy. Entry Enter the subclass of the occupancy classifica-tion if one applies. Structure Type Definition The identification of a structure as a specific property type. Entry Enter the code or select from the drop down list the structure type of the occupancy. Construction Type Definition The type of construction used for building of the occupancy. Entry Enter the code or select from the drop down list the structure type of the occupancy. Type of Roofing Used Definition The type of roofing used on the occupancy. Entry Enter the code or select from the drop down list the type of roofing used on the occupancy. Year Built Definition The year in which the occupancy was built. Entry Enter the four-digit year in which the occu-pancy was built.

Remodeled Definition The month, day, and or year in which the occu-pancy was remodeled. Entry Enter the month, day, and or year in which the occupancy was remodeled. RESPONDING DEPARTMENT FD Zone Definition An area identified by the fire department that is useful for administrative purposes. Entry Enter the fire department assigned “zone” number where the occupancy is located. If your fire department does not uses zones, you can leave this field blank. Fire Dept Definition The fire department that will respond if a fire is present. Entry Enter the responding fire department or their FDID. Resp Station Definition The name or FDID number for the closest re-sponding fire department. Entry Enter the closest responding fire department. BUILDING DIMENSIONS Length Entry Enter the length of the occupancy in feet. Width Entry Enter the width of the occupancy in feet. Height Entry Enter the height of the occupancy in feet.

Square Feet Definition The square feet of the occupancy will auto-matically be calculated based on the length, width, and height. Cubic Feet Definition The cubic feet of the occupancy will automati-cally be calculated based on the length, width, and height. Estimated Square Footage Definition The estimated square footage of occupancy. Entry Enter the estimated square footage. STORIES Definition Identifies whether the occupancy is single or multiple stories. Entry Mark the corresponding box, single or multiple stories. Enter the number of stories just to the right. RESIDENCE Definition Identifies whether the occupancy is residential or non-residential. Entry Mark the corresponding box, residential or non-residential.

NEEDED WATER FLOW 100 % Definition The needed amount of water flow per minute to extinguish a building that is 100% engulfed in flames. Entry Enter the # of gallons of water it will take to extinguish a building that is 100% engulfed in flames. 50 % Definition The needed amount of water flow per minute to extinguish a building that is 50% engulfed in flames. Entry Enter the # of ga llons of water it will take to extinguish a building that is 50% engulfed in flames. 25 % Definition The needed amount of water flow per minute to extinguish a building that is 25% engulfed in flames. Entry Enter the # of gallons of water it will take to extinguish a building that is 25% engulfed in flames. EXTRA TERRITORIAL JURISDICTION Inspections to be performed? Entry If inspections are to be performed at this occu-pancy, mark the box provided.

Entry Enter the maximum number of occupants of this occupancy. Day Occupants Definition The number of day occupants at occupancy. Entry Enter the number of day occupants that reside at this occupancy. Night Occupants Definition The number of night occupants at occupancy. Entry Enter the number of night occupants that reside at this occupancy. Disabled Occupants Definition The number of disabled occupants that reside at this occupancy.

Rescue Methods Definition This field is used to enter an rescue methods that might apply to this occupancy. Entry Enter any rescue methods that might apply to this occupancy. BUILDING INFORMATION Key Box Location Definition The location of the key box related to this oc-cupancy. Entry Enter the location of the key box related to this occupancy. Lock Box Location Definition The location of the lock box related to this oc-cupancy. Entry Enter the location of the lock box related to this occupancy.

Alarm Location Definition The location of the alarm related to this occu-pancy. Entry Enter the location of the alarm related to this occupancy. Roof Access? Definition Identifies whether or not this occupancy has roof access. Entry If this occupancy has roof access, mark the box with a check. PROTECTION METHODS LOCATIONS Stand Pipe Type Definition A standpipe is the connections you see in stair-wells at high rise buildings. It is where the FD connects to fight fires from the inside without bringing hoses all the way up from the outside. Entry Mark the correct box provided. Are there Interior Alarms Located at this Site? Entry If there are interior alarms located at this site, mark the box with a check. Is there a Sprinkler Riser at this Location? Entry If there is a sprinkler riser at this location, mark the box with a check. Is there a Fire Pump at this Location? Entry If there is a fire pump at this location, mark the box with a check. UTILITY INFORMATION Water Shut Off Definition Identifies water shut off locations. Entry Enter the location of the outside water shut off.

Gas Shut Off Definition Identifies where the gas shut off is located at this occupancy. Entry Enter the location of the gas shut off. Electric Main Definition Identifies where the electric main box is lo-cated at this occupancy. Entry Enter the location of the electric main box. Htg Type/Loc Definition Identifies the type and location of the heating pump at this occupancy. Entry Enter the type and location of the heating pump. A/C Type/Loc Definition Identifies the type and location of the air con-ditioner unit at this occupancy. Entry Enter the type and location of the air cond i-tioner unit. Elevator Shaft Definition Identifies the location of the elevator shaft at this occupancy. Entry Enter the location of the elevator shaft. Control Room Definition Identifies the location of the control room at this occupancy. Entry Enter the location of the control room.

Dot No Definition This field is used to enter the Department of Transportation (DOT) # that is associated with this occupancy. Entry Enter the Department of Transportation (DOT) # that is associated with this occupancy. 704 DESIGNATION CODES Health Entry Entry can be 0-4 with 0 being the lowest and 4 the highest. Flammability Entry Entry can be 0-4 with 0 being the lowest and 4 the highest. Reactivity Entry Entry can be 0-4 with 0 being the lowest and 4 the highest. INSTRUCTIONS Definition This field is used to enter any special instruc-tions that might apply to this occupancy.

EXTINGUISHING SYSTEMS Detector Type Definition Identifies the type of fire detection system that is present. Entry Enter the code or select from the drop down list that best describes the type of detector in-stalled. AES System Definition Identifies the type of existence of an automatic extinguishments system (AES) that is present. Entry Enter the code or select from the drop down list that best describes the type of (AES) detec-tor installed. EQUIPMENT Definition Identifies equipment at this occupancy. Entry Click on the to add a piece of equipment. Click on the to delete a piece of equipment.

HYDRANT LOCATIONS Definition Identifies hydrant locations at the occupancy. Entry Click on the and a list of appropriate codes will appear. Choose from the list that best de-scribes hydrant locations. ENTRY POINTS Definition Identifies ventilation points of the occupancy. Entry Choose codes by clicking on the VENTILATION LOCATIONS Definition Identifies ventilation points of the occupancy. Entry Choose codes by clicking on the FIRE WALLS Definition Identifies fire walls located at this occupancy. Entry Choose codes by clicking on the NUMBER OF EXITS Entry Enter total # of exits at this occupancy.

Click on the to delete a person. Click on the to open highlighted record. NOTES Definition The “Remarks” section is an area for any comments that might be made concerning the occupancy. It is also a place to describe what happened, fire depart-ment operations, or unusual conditions encountered. A narrative description of the incident may be written in this block. Entry Enter any remarks, operations, or unusual conditions encountered in this space to describe the occupancy in your own words.

PHOTOS Entry Use this screen to add photo’s and descriptions that pertain to the occupancy. LOAD IMAGE FROM A FILE 1 -- Under the Photo’s tab, click with the right mouse button. 2 -- Select Load Image from a File and click with the left button. 3 -- Finally, select the path and the file you wish to load. DELETE IMAGE 1 -- First, click on the photo you wish to delete. 2 -- Then click with the right mouse button. 3 -- Select Delete Image and click with the left button.

? Adding an Occupancy

1) From the FIRECentral Toolbar click on Operations Tab, Next click on the 2nd icon, Occupancy Information.

2) Occupancy Search Form is displayed. Click the Ok button. 3) From the Select Occupancy Location window click the to add

a new occupancy. 4) Edit Occupancy Information window is displayed. 5) Enter the correct information starting with Business Name field.

Press the Tab key to move from field to field. When finished entering information under Demographics Tab click on the next Tab, Search and Rescue.

6) Next, enter information starting with Day Occupants field. Press the Tab key to move from field to field. When finished entering information under Search and Rescue Tab click on the next Tab, Hazard, Hydrants, etc.

7) Next, enter information starting with Entry Points field. When finished entering information under Hazard, Hydrants, etc. Tab click on the next Tab, Owner and Occupancy Persons

8) Next, enter Owner and Occupancy Persons that apply. When finished click on the next Tab, Photos.

9) When finished click the Ok button to save changes and return to Occupancy Search Form.

? How to View and Edit an Occupancy

1) From the FIRECentral Toolbar click on Operations Tab, Next click on the 2nd icon, Occupancy Information.

2) Occupancy Search Form is displayed. Enter the occupancy in formation to search by, then Click the Ok button. To list all occupancies, leave all fields blank then click the Ok button.

3) From the Select Occupancy Location window double click on the occupancy to view or edit.

4) Edit Occupancy Information window is displayed. 5) Make any necessary changes. Press the Tab key to move from

field to field, click on the next Tab to move between Tabs. 6) When finished click the Ok button to save changes and return to

Occupancy Search Form. ? How to Delete an Occupancy

1) From the FIRECentral Toolbar click on Operations Tab, Next click on the 2nd icon, Occupancy Information.

2) Occupancy Search Form is displayed. Enter the occupancy in formation to search by, then Click the Ok button. To list all occupancies, leave all fields blank then click the Ok button.

3) From the Select Occupancy Location window click once on the occupancy to delete. Notice that name will be highlighted.

4) Next, click the button. 5) Finally, click Yes to delete the record.
