Observation Two: Season One Episode Two Guts

1:00/4:00- Episode Two begins with Lori walking out in the woods to ask Shane whether or

not some mushrooms that a group member had piked are poisonous! "e ome to the #uik

onlusion that this is not the reason the$ ha%e both went out in the woods alone! &s the$ beginto embrae one another the audiene learns that their relationship is 'urther along than pre%iousl$

pre%ious episode is still attempting to make ontat with him! +a%ing e$es on the outside* )ik is

able to esape the tank and meet up with the man who was ommuniating with him! The$ then

'lee to an alle$ wa$ and limb the 'ire esape to the roo'! ,ne inside* )ik is met with a gun inhis 'ae as one o' the members--&ndrea--solds him delaring he has gotten them all killed!

oming 'rom the roo'! &ndrea e.laims it is erle i.on doing the shooting! &nother member o'the group--T! og--$ells that he is ust wasting their ammunition! This auses erle to go

ballisti* laiming that will be the da$ that he takes orders 'rom an &'rian &merian! The twoensue in a 'ist 'ight that is learl$ one sided! erle beats T! og relentlessl$ as the others beg 'or

him to stop! 2t is not long a'ter that )ik hits erle o%er the head with a ri'le and handu''s him

to a pipe! "hile doing this )ik makes it lear that there is no more di''erene in rae* onl$ darkmeat and white meat* us and the dead!

4:00/30:00- &'ter their plan to tr$ and esape underneath the it$ is srathed out* the group

then deides that there is onl$ one wa$ to get bak to sa'et$! Someone has to go on the streetsand reo%er a -+aul onstrution %ehile down the road! This is seen as suiide b$ man$* but

)ik omes up with the idea that i' the "alkers an5t smell them* ma$be the$ won5t detet them!+e then leads them in utting up a "alker orpse and smearing the blood and guts all o%erhimsel' and 6lenn! "hile making their wa$ to the truk* it appears as i' their plan ust might

ue to radio inter'erene onl$ one transmission gets through* it sa$ing that T! og and the others

are stranded in the it$! &m$* --&ndrea5s sister--makes the laim that the$ ha%e to go attempt to

sa%e them! +owe%er* Shane #uikl$ dismisses this idea as he knows it would be suiide! Sheknew the risks Shane puts it as &m$ storms o'' with Lori lose behind her!

39:00/43:00- "hile in the truk )ik tells 6lenn that he must make some sort o' distration to

get the walkers awa$ 'rom the building--where the others are--in order 'or him to sa%e the rest o'

the group! 6lenn seems on'used as what )ik means b$ this! The ne.t sene shows )ikbashing the window o' aDodge Challenger RT 1tripping its anti-the't alarm! 6lenn then

proeeds to dri%e all the "alkers awa$ with the howling %ehile! &'ter 6lenn in'orms the group

)ik5s intentions--b$ radio--e%er$one begins to grab their gear and head 'or the loading doors inthe bak o' the store! ,nl$ one problem ensures* erle is still handu''ed to the roo'! T! og

attempts to rush and 'ree him onl$ to 'all and drop the ke$ down a drain on the roo'! )ealiing he

an5t sa%e erle* T! og hains the door to the roo' shut and athes up with the other groupmembers!
