DIDÁCTICA ESPECIAL I OBSERVATION FILE (2015) Procedures to be followed: In this file you will find the observation tasks to be done during this period: The dates to be handed in are going to be stipulated during class time. The reports on them should be completed in time and form in order to be accepted, they have an order and it cannot be changed. The observations have a clear identification at the beginning of each of them, it is as important as the observation itself to complete, date, time of the class, name of the teacher and school/institution. It is not necessary to make the teacher of the course to be observed to sign your paper. You will be asked to hand in them at any time by your teacher. There are no possibilities of not having them when they are asked for as you will have plenty of time to make them. Holidays and schools calendar will be considered. Even when doing the observations in pairs you have to have your own individual report. REMEMBER: ALWAYS ASK THE TEACHER IN CHARGE OF THE CLASSROOM PERMISSION TO OBSERVE HIM/HER. THIS SHOULD BE DONE AT LEAST 24 HOURS BEFORE YOUR OBSERVATION.

Pay attention to routines:

1st the ones outside the classroom meaning: how they go out to the break, how long is the break?, how many breaks are there? If you can´t stay long enough to find out about all that, ask students or the teacher.

2nd the ones inside the classroom: to do so you must go to observe the first period of this teacher. Observe and write all the actions you consider are performed every time this teacher enters the classroom, greets the class and proceeds to start the lesson.

How does he/ she address students? How do they address the teacher? What does the teacher ask for? What do the students ask for? What´s the general atmosphere of the classroom? Can you relate it to

the teacher´s personality? Or to the group of students?

How do students call the attention of the teacher? What kind of activities do they do in this class? How do they respond to the activities? What do they like best? What didn´t they like? Can you relate this likings to the

theories you read?

Make an inference from theory in order to explain his/her behavior.
