As an Assistant Professor, I feel happier to see the students participating in different events and delivers their best. A Bi– Annual Publication 2018—2019

The Department of Corporate Secretaryship has recorded

consistent improvement in its academic, research and placement

performance. The students are encouraged to get hands-on

Dr.G.Uma Maheswari, attended a two days Regional level FDP in Management

Accounting organized by The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. She

was invited as a Judge for the Inter-Departmental Fest “Comgat’18” for Paper

Presentation.

Ms.B.Geetha Ramani published a paper in Knowledge Economy on the topic

“Investment decisions in Financial Instruments - Gender Differences”.

Ms.A.J.Premalatha and Ms.D.Pratibha Organized an Intra –Departmental Fest

“Corp Hunt’18” on 10th August, 2018.

Second year students have approached Companies related to Manufacturing as well

as Service Industry and got Internship confirmation letter. They attended internship

for 15 days in the month of May 2018.

Our Department had taken second year students to “Mercury Packaging Industry” as

a field trip on 14th August 2018. Students observed the sequential process of

Package Manufacturing with the guidance of the Industry Coordinators.

The Department of Corporate Secretaryship arranged Guest Lecture to Second Year

students on the topic “Application of Statistical Tools” on 20th September 2018.

Dr. R.Kavitha, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics gave insights on

Application of Statistics in real time projects using software packages.

Guest Lecture was arranged for third year students on the topic “Filing of Returns

and PAN Card”. Mr.P.Arumugam, Chartered Accountant gave an idea about various

ITR forms and the Importance of PAN Card on 1st October, 2018.

CORP TALK Department of Corporate Secretaryship

Third year students (Batch 2016—19) completed their 30 days internship in the company

selected by them during the month of May/June 2018. They collected the Annual Report of the

company and started their project work which is a part of their Curriculum.

Ms.Chandra Surabhi S of Second year went

for an 30 days internship at Catalyst for

Women Entrepreneurship (CWE),

Bangalore and received a certificate for the

same.

Ms.Sneghaa Kannan of Second year

participated in Enactus National

Competition at Mumbai as an observer from

our College and to see how other colleges

have completed with their Projects.

Students from all three years have

undergone online course such as CSR, Yarn

Manufacturing in NPTEL and My Captain.

Second year students have been offered a

Certificate Course on “Quantitative

Aptitude” and third year students have been

offered Course on “Life Skills”.

Seven students from second year have

undergone TCS Certificate Course on

“Banking for Business Process Services”.

were taught about “Child Safety (Good touch and

Bad touch) and “Conservation of Environment” to

the students of Pre-Teen age in the Ramakrishna

Mission Matriculation Higher Secondary School,

Bhazulla road, T.Nagar.

Four students from second year took part in the

activity of creating an Awareness on Adverse

effects of Junk Food through a Skit play at

Kaliyanur Village, Kancheepuram.

Seven students have been placed in N-Trust and CTS Companies through Campus Placements.

Ms.J.Anuradha, Ms.S.Priya Dharshini and Ms.M.Samyuktha of First year and

Ms.Sri Sai Manasa Srujana S, Ms.Sowmya V and Ms.R.Subha from Second year have actively

participated in Shasun Vend-in.

Our Department students have actively participated in Shasun Bazaar 2018 and gained a real

time experience in knowing nuances of the Business activities.

Ms. Kamana Ashok Kumar of third year has participated in various Archery Competitions held all

over India. She has secured 1st Rank in Tamilnadu and also she had won many Medals in Archery.

The following are the Medals she had received in 11th Tamilnadu Archery State Championship:

1. Recurve Individual - GOLD

2. Recurve mix team - GOLD

3. Recurve team - GOLD

4. Recurve Indoor team - GOLD

5. Intuitive mix team - SILVER

6. Intuitive team - SILVER

Ms. R.Aparajitha of second year won in the competition conducted by Shivanugraha Trust and

Shivan Arts Academy on Brahmasri Papanasam Sivan Compositions and was given the trophy by

Hon’ Governor of Tamilnadu Thiru.Banwarilal Purohit. She was also a topper in the 5th level

Yathnam Exams conducted by Prayathanam, Chennai.

Ms. Monica S of first year was the runner up in Kho-Kho Match held in YMCA. She has also won

3rd prize in Kho-Kho Match held in various Colleges such as Queen Mary’s, SRM, Hindu and

KRMC College.

Ms.Anunyaa S of first year secured 2nd Rank in 1st Valliammal Memorial District Level Children

Chess Tournament.

Ms.Sri Sai Manasa Srujana S, Ms.Moushme K V and Ms.Sowmya V bagged third place in Game

Relay Competition held in MOP Vaishnav College.

Dazzling Foundation group organised Inter-School Competition in CSI Bain School. Various

Competitions like Rangoli, Mehandi Essay writing, Oratorical, Just in a Min and Cooking without

fire were conducted. Ms.Ranjani M and Ms.K.Sharon Hepzhibah from third year were invited as

Event Judges for one of the events.

Ms. Shruthi N of first year received ‘Best Student Award’ in Induction day.

Students from all three years won prizes in the events such as Meme Creations, Connections and

Pot Pourri that were held as a part of Intra– departmental Competition.

Trophy in Inter departmental events conducted by BCA Department.
