O'Neill OSFS Fr. Tom O’Neill, OSFS, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2015 at Rosary Care Center, Toledo, OH. He was born to Agnes (Schmitt) and Thomas O’Neill on January 15, 1930 in Philadelphia, PA. After joining the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales in 1948, he studied philosophy, theology and mathematics, earning degrees from Catholic University of America in 1954 and 1956. Fr. Tom was ordained to the priesthood in 1957. At the time of his passing, he was 85 years old, 67 years professed and 58 years ordained. The eldest of five children, Fr. Tom is remembered as a wonderful brother, chef and teacher. After ordination he taught at DeSales HS in Lockport, NY and then taught and served as principal of Judge Memorial HS in Salt Lake City, Utah and St. Mary's HS in Stockton, CA. From 1978-2002 he taught math and was Academic Dean at St. Francis de Sales HS in Toledo, OH. He was an outstanding teacher who prepared students well for AP exams and college math courses. Fr. Tom was preceded in death by his brother Joseph O’Neill and sister Margaret Depiano. He is survived by his brothers John and Fr. Jim O’Neill, OSFS. Services are scheduled for Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Gesu Church, 2049 Parkside Blvd. Toledo, OH. Visitation will begin in the church at 5 PM and the Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 7 PM. The family of Rev. Thomas P. Obituary for Rev. Thomas P. O'Neill OSFS
