Daphne Arabella Laing nee Glinton was the third child of three born to the late Jarvis Logan Glinton from O’Neal’s Long Island and the late Arabella Clothilda Laroda-Glinton from Cedar Harbour. On October 26th, 1940 on Mackey Street in the heart of the “Valley” a beautiful and fearless warrior gracefully entered the world and her journey on earth would mightily impact the lives of all she touched.

Affectionately known as “Daffie” or “Daff” to her family and close friends, her early years were spent in Strachan’s Corner with “the Glintons” and through Rupert Dean Lane with her Aunt and Uncle “the Larodas”. She spent her childhood doing everything she loved; from shooting marbles to skipping rope, playing jacks, long bike rides, enjoy-ing native fruit and her favorite treat cotton candy.

She attended the Orthodox School located on Cole Lane, off Mackey Street and Worrell School located on Bay Street. Daffie later moved to Eastern Senior where she obtained her Leaving Certificate in 1955.

Around 1947, Daffie’s parents went off on the Contract to make a living for their family as there was no employment during that time in The Bahamas. Daffie’s mother return to The Bahamas where she built with her bare hands “Blue Moon Centre Bar” located on Mackey Street. Their reunion was short lived because at Daphne’s tender age of 11, her mother passed away.

After a written letter to her father Mr. Jarvis Glinton, On October 23rd, 1957 Daphne married Hermes Emile Laing a Farm Road boy. Mr. Glinton’s words to Hermes was “This is My Last Slice Of Bread” meaning you are to take good care of her. From that union they produced five children Desiree, Lorenzo, Hermes Jr., La’Donna and Daphne. As a mother Daphne always kept her children near to her. She was a nurturer and her chil-dren became her world. She would always quote the song writer “Can a woman’s ten-der care Cease toward the child she bare? Yes, she may forgetful be Yet will I remem-ber thee.” Daffie was their very own superwoman draped in Proverbs 31. She was their nurse, disci-plinarian, teacher, provider, chef, protector, confidant and cheerleader. She instilled in them a strong work ethic, commitment to family and unwavering faith. Daff was the definition of a mother’s love. The Friday before her death, she shared in her final moment with all five of her children. As ‘Hermie’ was ordained Rev’d Deacon Hermes Laing II she witnessed gleefully and whispered to him, ‘I can now rest.’ 4

In 1987, Daffie suffered another loss as her beloved sister Robertha passed away. When Bertha, as she affectionately caller he sister, passed she ensured to maintain a closeness with her nieces and nephews being there when they needed her.

Daphne became an entrepreneur at an early age; as a young woman she opened a grocery store located on Wulff Road almost diagonal to St. Barnabas Church. Later she moved to a location in Pine Dale where the neighborhood families would purchase and many times “Trust” to feed their families and pay at a later date. In 1974, after consulta-tion with her eleven year-old daughter, La’Donna, Daphne decided to take on a Ca-reer as an Insurance Agent with Family Guardian Insurance Company. Years later she made history by becoming the first female Staff Manager in that organization. In 1979, Daphne soared to higher heights and became employed with Dominion Life Assurance Company where she was consistently rated one of the High Achievers.

In 1988 Daphne along with her second son Hermes decided to partnership and expand the family business “Blue Moon Centre Bar” and later she became the proprietor of a second Business called “Blue Moon Take Away” both business she ran until her demise. Around the ‘shop’ and on her errands to various businesses, Daffie was known as ‘mum,’ ‘Ms. Laing,’ and ‘Lady D.’ Many had the opportunity to interact with her, chat with her, laugh with her and surely discuss politics with her.

Daff’s life within the PLP began during her teenage years in 1955. Her father Jarvis Logan Glinton attended political meetings on the Southern Recreation grounds, which led to the party’s Majority Rule. By witnessing her father’s involvement and the change within the country Daphne was motivated to do her part and get involved. In the historical election of 1962 Daphne was one of the first women privileged to register and vote. Daphne felt both honored and obligated to vote as she was setting the example for her daughters and generations of her family to come. In 1965 Daphne also participated in the movement that lead to Black Tuesday. Her participation in the Progressive Liberal Party was more than for party affiliation but doing what was right for the betterment of her country. After the 1992 election defeat Daphne Glinton was called along with other women by Lady Marguerite Pindling to join together in reuniting and rejuvenating the Women’s Branch of the PLP. Since then Daphne Glinton has been a devoted member to the Women’s Branch and was always a devoted member to the party. As a member of the Marathon constituency she has been diligent in supporting the Marathon Branch and is a former executive board member of the Marathon Branch. She would always lend a hand in campaigning and supporting party representatives within her area, talking with her fellow neighbors of the proven record of the PLP and instilling the importance of voting in upcoming elections. In 1999 Ms. Daphne Glinton was honored to be selected as a Stalwart Council member, which signified for her that her dedication to the PLP was recognized.

Whether you would see her at rallies with her family, riding around her truck ordained with paraphernalia with the grand children or even at Blue Moon she would always let you know she was a proud PLP, All the way! In the past 5 years as D’Asante and Davin followed in her political footsteps becoming active in the Progressive Young Liberals she was assured that her legacy would proudly continue.

Affectionately known as Grammy by her grandkids, it was a title she wore with honor and was proud to tell all about her grandchildren’s latest accomplishments and activi-ties. Her grandchildren were the apple of her eye. She was always there to cook their favorite meal the way only Grammy could, to nurse any sickness, front row of every graduation and supported every activity.

Through life's many ups and downs, Daphne was always a pillar of strength for her fam-ily. Whether through her own challenges or through individual challenges Daffie always offered an encouraging word or invaluable wisdom. In 1995, Daphne underwent major heart surgery and with her recovery she demonstrated her resilience and undeniable strength. She was always independent, strong-willed and hard working.

“Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised,” Proverbs 31 v. 30. Daff deserves all the praise as the matriarch of her family; she was a prayer warrior and a faith-ful servant of the Lord. As a longtime member of St. Barnabas Parish she encouraged her children and grand children to love and serve the Lord. On Wednesday January 28th 2015, God called his faithful servant Daphne home. Peacefully, Daffie left this Earth to be with the Father to take her well-deserved rest. She will be remembered for the infectious laugh, radiant smile and unde-niable beauty and grace.

Reception of the Body Celebrant: With faith in Jesus Christ, we receive the body of our sister Daphne for burial. Our sister was washed in Holy Baptism and anointed with the Holy Spirit. Let us therefore, with confidence, pray to God our Heavenly Father, the Giver of life, that He will raise her to perfection in the company of the Saints.

Celebrant: The Lord be wit you. Congregation: And also with you.

Celebrant: Let us pray.

Celebrant: O God of grace and glory, we remember before you this day our sister Daphne. We thank you for giving her to us, her family and friends, to know and love as a companion on our earthly pilgrimage. In your boundless com-passion, console us who mourn. Give us faith to see in death the gate of eternal life, so that in quiet confidence we may continue our course on earth, until, by your call, we are reunited with those who have gone before; through Jesus Christ our Lord. All: Amen. Opening Sentences Jesus said, I am the resurrection, and I am the life; he who believes in me, though he die yet shall he live. And who ever lives and believes in me shall never die. John 11:25-26

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His compassion never fails; every morning they are renewed. Lamentations 3:22-23

Jesus said, Let not your hearts be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me John 14:1

I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things preset, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39

If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord; so then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s. For to this end Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living. Romans 14: 8-9

We brought nothing into the world and we take nothing out. The Lord gives, and the Lord takes away. Blessed be the name of the Lord. Job 1:21

The eternal God is our refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. Deuteronomy 33:27 Introit Hymn “Thy Way, not mine, O Lord”

Collect for the Departed Celebrant: Let us pray. Almighty God, we remember before you today your ser-vant Daphne and we pray that having opened to her the gates of larger life, you will receive her more and more into your joyful service, that, with all who have served you in the past, she may share in the eternal victory of Jesus Christ our Lord who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever. All: Amen.

Thy way, not mine, O Lord,

however dark it be;

lead me by thine own hand,

choose out the path for me.

Smooth let it be or rough,

it will be still the best;

winding or straight, it leads

right onward to thy rest.

I dare not choose my lot;

I would not, if I might;

choose thou for me, my God,

so I shall walk aright.

The kingdom that I seek

is thine; so let the way

that leads to it be thine,

else I must surely stray.

Take thou my cup, and it

with joy or sorrow fill,

as best to thee may seem;

choose thou my good and ill.

Choose thou for me my friends,

my sickness or my health;

choose thou my cares for me

my poverty or wealth.

Not mine, not mine the choice

in things or great or small;

be thou my Guide, my Strength

my wisdom and my all.

OLD TESTAMENT LESSON Isiah 25: 6-9 Dominic Kikivarakis (Grand-Nephew)

And in this mountain shall the Lord of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined. And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations. He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it. And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the Lord; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

"For ever with the Lord!"

Amen; so let it be;

life from the dead is in that word,

'tis immortality.

Here in the body pent,

absent from him I roam,

yet nightly pitch my moving tent

a day's march nearer home.

My Father's house on high,

home of the soul, how near!

At times to faith's foreseeing eye

thy golden gates appear!

Ah! then my spirit faints,

to reach the land I love,

the bright inheritance of saints,

Jerusalem above.

"For ever with the Lord!"

Father, if 'tis thy will,

the promise of that faithful word

even here to me fulfill.

Be thou at my right hand,

then can I never fail;

uphold thou me, and I shall stand,

fight, and I must prevail.

So when my latest breath

shall rend the veil in twain,

by death I shall escape from death,

and life eternal gain.

Knowing as I am known,

how shall I love that word,

and oft repeat before the throne,

"For ever with the Lord!"

Solo Tracey Knowles NEW TESTAMENT LESSON: Revelation 21: 2-7 La’Summer Payne (Grand Daughter) And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. Gradual Hymn “The Strife is O’er, the Battle Done”

Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

The strife is o'er, the battle done,

the victory of life is won;

the song of triumph has begun.

Alleluia!

Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

The powers of death have done their

worst,

but Christ their legions hath dispersed:

let shout of holy joy outburst.

Alleluia!

Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

The three sad days are quickly sped,

he rises glorious from the dead:

all glory to our risen Head!

Alleluia!

Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

He closed the yawning gates of hell,

the bars from heaven's high portals fell;

let hymns of praise his triumphs tell!

Alleluia!

Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

Lord! by the stripes which wounded

thee,

from death's dread sting thy servants

free,

that we may live and sing to thee.

Alleluia!

The Holy Gospel John 14: 1-6 Priest: The Lord be with you. All: And also with you Priest: A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John. All: Glory to Christ our Saviour. Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Priest: This is the Gospel of Christ. All: Praise to Christ our Lord. The Sermon Canon Basil Tynes The Apostle’s Creed Celebrant: Let us with confidence and hope confess the faith into which we were baptized as we say,

All: I believe in God the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was cru-cified, died and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day He rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Fa-ther, I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlast-ing. Amen.

Intercessions Simone Laing (Daughter in-law) Kendal Johnson (Son in-law) For our sister Daphne, let us pray to our Lord Jesus Christ who said, “I am Resur-rection and I am Life.” Hear us, Lord.

Lord, you consoled Martha and Mary in their distress; draw near to us who mourn for Daphne, and dry the tears of those who weep. Hear us, Lord.

You wept at the grave of Lazarus, your friend; comfort us in our sorrow. Hear us, Lord.

You raised the dead to life; give to our sister eternal life. Hear us, Lord.

15

Page 16: Obituary Daphne Arabella Laing-Glinton

You promised paradise to the thief who repented; bring our sister to the joys of heaven. Hear us, Lord. Our sister was washed in Baptism and anointed with the Holy Spirit; give her fel-lowship with all your saints. Hear us, Lord. She was nourished with your Body and Blood; grant her a place at the table in your heavenly kingdom.

Hear us, Lord. Comfort us in our sorrows at the death of our sister Daphne. Let our faith be our consolation, and eternal life our hope. Lord Jesus Christ, we commend to you our sister Daphne, who was reborn by water and the Spirit in Holy Baptism. Grant that her death may recall to us your victory over death, and be an occasion for us to renew our trust in your Father’s love. Give us, we pray, the faith to follow where you have led the way; and where you live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, to the ages of ages. Amen. ACT OF PENITENCE Celebrant: If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Celebrant: Let us therefore confess our sins. All: Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, we have sinned against you and one another, in thought, word and deed and in what we have left undone. We are sorry and repent of all our sins. For your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, forgive us all that is past, and grant that we may serve you in newness of life to the glory of Your name. Amen. Celebrant: Almighty God, have mercy upon you, pardon and deliver you from all your sins, confirm and strengthen you in all goodness and keep you in life eternal; through Jesus Christ our Lord. All: Amen. Celebrant: We are the body of Christ. By the One Spirit we were all baptized into one Body and have all been made to drink of the one Spirit. All: Let us then pursue the things that make for peace and build up the common life.

Celebrant: The peace of the Lord be always with you. All: And also with you. THE PRESENTATION OF THE OFFERING Element Bearers: D’Andrea & Carlo Ramsey (Grand Daughter & Grand Son n-Law) Offertory Hymn “Hark, My Soul! It is the Lord”

Hark, my soul, it is the Lord!

'Tis thy Savior, hear his Word;

Jesus speaks, and speaks to thee,

"Say, poor, sinner, lovest thou me?"

"I delivered thee when bound,

and, when bleeding, healed thy

wound;

sought thee wandering, set thee right,

turned thy darkness into light.

"Can a woman's tender care

cease toward the child she bare?

Yes, she may forgetful be,

yet will I remember thee.

"Mine is an unchanging love,

higher than the heights above,

deeper than the depths beneath,

free and faithful, strong as death.

"Thou shalt see my glory soon,

when the work of grace is done;

partner of my throne shalt be:

say, poor sinner, lovest thou me?"

Lord, it is my chief complaint

that my love is weak and faint;

yet I love thee, and adore:

O for grace to love thee more!

17

Page 18: Obituary Daphne Arabella Laing-Glinton

Offertory Prayer Celebrant: Through your goodness, Lord, we have this bread and wine to offer, the fruit of the earth and the work of human hands. They will become our spiri-tual food. All things come from you, O Lord, and of your own do we give you. Blessed be God for ever. Amen The Eucharistic Prayer Celebrant: The Lord be with you. All: And also with you. Celebrant: Lift up your hearts. All: We lift them up unto the Lord. Celebrant: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. All: It is right to give God thanks and praise. Celebrant: It is right and a good and joyful thing, always and everywhere to give You thanks, Father Almighty, everlasting God, through Jesus Christ our Lord; who rose victorious from the dead and comforts us with the blessed hope of life eternal. For to Your faithful people, O Lord, life is changed, not ended; and when our mortal body lies in death, there is prepared for us a dwelling place eternal in the heavens. Therefore we praise you, joining our voices with angels and archangels, and with all the company of heaven, who forever sing this hymn to proclaim the glory of Your name. All: Holy, holy, holy, Lord, God of power and might; heaven and earth are full of Your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is He who comes in the Name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.

18

Page 19: Obituary Daphne Arabella Laing-Glinton

Celebrant: Sovereign Lord and Father, to you be glory and praise for ever. In your boundless wisdom you brought creation into being; in your great love you fashioned us in your image; in your tender compassion you sent your Son, Jesus Christ, our Saviour, to share our human nature; in the power of the Holy Spirit, He overcame the power of sin and death and brought your people to new birth as first fruits of your new creation. On the night that Hew as betrayed He took bread, and when He had given thanks to you. He broke it and gave it to his dis-ciples and said: “Take this, and eat it: this is my Body which is given for you. Do this for the remembrance of me.” And after supper He took the cup of wine: and when He had given thanks, He gave it to them and said: “Drink this, all of you: This is my Blood of the New Covenant which is shed for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Whenever you drink it, do this for the remembrance of me.” Celebrant: Therefore, Father according to the command of your dearly beloved Son. All: We remember His death. We proclaim His resurrection. We await His coming in glory. Celebrant: And we offer you, Father, our sacrifice of thanks and praise. Send your Holy Spirit on these gifts of bread and wine that they may become the Body and Blood of your Son, Jesus, our Lord and Redeemer. As we partake of this holy food of new and unending life, may your Holy Spirit establish us a royal priesthood with the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Joseph, St. Barnabas, St. John the Baptist, and all your sons and daughters who share in your eternal inheritance; Through Jesus Christ our Lord. With Him and in Him and through Him, by the power of the Holy Spirit, we worship you, Father Almighty, with all who stand be-fore you in earth and heaven, in songs of everlasting praise: All: Blessing and honour and glory and power be yours forever and ever. Amen.

The Lord’s Prayer Celebrant: As our Savior has taught us, so we pray All: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your Name; your kingdom come; your will be done on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread; forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.

The Breaking of the Bread Celebrant: We break this bread to share in the Body of Christ. All: Though we are many, we are one body, because we all share in one bread.

The Invitation Celebrant: The gifts of God for the people of God All: Our souls will feast and be satisfied, and we will sing glad songs of praise to Him.

Tree, and having with us him that pleads above, we here present, we spread forth to thee that only Offering perfect in thine eyes, the one, true, pure, immortal Sacrifice.

Look, Father, look on his anointed face,

and only look on us as found in him; look not on our misusings of thy grace,

our prayer so languid, and our faith so dim: for lo, between our sins and their reward we set the Passion of thy Son our Lord.

And then for those, our dearest and our best, by this prevailing Presence we appeal:

O fold them closer to thy mercy's breast, O do thine utmost for their souls' true weal;

from tainting mischief keep them white and clear, and crown thy gifts with strength to

persevere.

And so we come: O draw us to thy feet, most patient Savior, who canst love us still; and by this food, so aweful and so sweet,

deliver us from every touch of ill: in thine own service make us glad and free,

Lord, enthroned in heavenly splendor, first-begotten from the dead.

Thou alone, our strong defender, liftest up thy people's head.

Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Jesus, true and living bread! Jesus, true and living bread!

Here our humblest homage pay we,

here in loving reverence bow; here for faith's discernment pray we,

lest we fail to know thee now. Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Thou art here, we ask not how. Thou art here, we ask not how.

Though the lowliest form doth veil thee

as of old in Bethlehem, here as there thine angels hail thee, branch and flower of Jesse's stem.

Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! We in worship join with them. We in worship join with them.

Paschal Lamb, thine offering, finished once for all when thou was slain,

in its fullness undiminished shall for evermore remain. Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Cleansing souls from every stain. Cleansing souls from every stain.

Life-imparting heavenly Manna,

stricken Rock with streaming side, heaven and earth with loud hosanna

worship thee, the Lamb who died. Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Risen, ascended, glorified! Risen, ascended, glorified!

“Jerusalem the Golden”

“There is A Green Hill Far Away”

Post-Communion Prayer All: Almighty God, we thank you that in Your great love You have fed us with the spiritual food and drink of the Body and Blood of Your Son Jesus Christ, and have given us a foretaste of Your heavenly banquet. Grant that this Sacrament may be to us a comfort in affliction, and a pledge of our inheritance in that kingdom, where there is no death, neither sorrow nor crying, but the fullness of joy with your saints; through Jesus Christ our Saviour. Amen.

Solo Hermes Laing III (Grand-Son)

The Commendation President: Blessed be God our Father. Congregation: The Creator and Preserver of all life. President: Blessed be Jesus Christ. Congregation: The Saviour and Redeemer of mankind.

Jerusalem the golden, with milk and honey blest,

beneath thy contemplation sink heart and voice oppressed:

I know not, oh, I know not, what joys await us there; what radiancy of glory,

what bliss beyond compare!

They stand, those halls of Zion, all jubilant with song,

and bright with many an angel, and all the martyr throng: the Prince is ever in them,

the daylight is serene; the pastures of the blessèd

are decked in glorious sheen.

There is the throne of David; and there, from care released, the shout of them that triumph,

the song of them that feast; and they who with their Leader

have conquered in the fight, for ever and for ever

are clad in robes of white.

Oh, sweet and blessèd country, the home of God's elect!

Oh, sweet and blessèd country, that eager hearts expect! Jesus, in mercy bring us to that dear land of rest,

who art, with God the Father, and the Spirit, ever blest.

There is a green hill far away, Without a city wall,

Where the dear Lord was crucified, Who died to save us all.

We may not know, we cannot tell,

What pains he had to bear, But we believe it was for us

He hung and suffered there.

There is a green hill far away, Without a city wall,

Where the dear Lord was crucified, Who died to save us all.

We may not know, we cannot tell,

What pains he had to bear, But we believe it was for us

He hung and suffered there.

Recessional Hymn Abide with Me

It Is Finished

It’s Alright Now

1.Abide with me: fast falls the eventide; the darkness deepens; Lord, with me abide: when other helpers fail and comforts flee,

help of the helpless, O abide with me.

2.I need thy presence every passing hour; what but thy grace can foil the tempter's

power? Who, like thyself, my guide and stay can be? Through cloud and sunshine, Lord, abide with

me.

3.I fear no foe, with thee at hand to bless; ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness.

Where is death's dark sting? where, grave, thy victory? I triumph still, if thou abide with me.

4. Hold thou thy cross before my closing eyes; shine through the gloom, and point me to the

skies; heaven's morning breaks, and earth's vain shadows flee;

in life, in death, O Lord, abide with me.

1.There’s a line that’s been drawn through the ages

On that line stands the old rugged cross On that cross a battle is raging

For the gain of man’s soul or his loss.

It is finished, the battle is over It is finished, there’ll be no more war It is finished, the end of the conflict

It is finished and Jesus is Lord

2.On one side march the forces of Evil All the demons and devils of hell One the other the angels of glory And they meet on Golgotha’s hill.

3.The earth shakes with force of the conflict

And the sun refuses to shine For there hangs God’s Son in the balance

And then through the darkness He cries

1.There was a time I traveled A lonely sinful road

Beneath a heavy burden bending low But now all things are different

For Jesus took my load It's alright now I'm His I know

It's alright now

For I am in my Savior's care It's alright now

My Savior hears and answers prayer He'll walk beside me

'Til I climb the heav'nly stair And ev'rything is alright now

2. Down a lonely pathway without a friend to guide,

I walked in sin and sorrow all alone; ‘Til Jesus came and found me

And drew me to His side, It’s alright now, For I am His own

3. No more in sin I wonder, No more in darkness roam,

The Lord has placed my feet on higher ground;

Each day new heights I’m gaining, My soul is nearing home,

It’s alright now, I’m heaven bound

TRIBUTE TO

Grammy,

Once upon a time you probably

thought you were done raising kids,

You figured you’d earned a little

peace.

Then you found yourself being a

parent again. Well lucky for us, you

were up to the challenge because

we got the benefit of your wisdom

and tender heart. We know we

must have been a handful at times

and you always made us feel that

your was unconditional and our

home was a happy place to be.

You’re the best grandmother any-

body could ever ask for.

We love you and will miss you.

When tomorrow starts without me, And I'm not there to see, If the sun should rise and find your eyes All filled with tears for me; I wish so much you wouldn't cry The way you did today, While thinking of the many things, We didn't get to say. I know how much you love me, As much as I love you, And each time that you think of me, I know you'll miss me too; But when tomorrow starts without me, Please try to understand, That an angel came and called my name, And took me by the hand, And said my place was ready, In heaven far above, And that I'd have to leave behind All those I dearly love. But as I turned to walk away, A tear fell from my eye For all my life, I'd always thought, I didn't want to die. I had so much to live for, So much left yet to do, It almost seemed impossible That I was leaving you. I thought of all the yesterdays, The good ones and the bad, I thought of all the love we shared, And all the fun we had. If I could relive yesterday, Just even for a while, I'd say good-bye and kiss you And maybe see you smile.

But then I fully realized, That this could never be, For emptiness and memories, Would take the place of me. And when I thought of worldly things, I might miss come tomorrow, I thought of you, and when I did, My heart was filled with sorrow. But when I walked through heaven's gates, I felt so much at home. When God looked down and smiled at me, From His great golden throne, He said, "This is eternity, And all I've promised you. Today your life on earth is past, But here life starts anew. I promise no tomorrow, But today will always last, And since each day's the same way There's no longing for the past. You have been so faithful, So trusting and so true. Though there were times you did some things You knew you shouldn't do. But you have been forgiven And now at last you're free. So won't you come and take my hand And share my life with me?" So when tomorrow starts without me, Don't think we're far apart, For every time you think of me, I'm right here, in your heart. -A Poem from
