Hill, 87, resi- dent of Amherst, NH, died April 12, 2011 at his daughter’s home in Milford, from complications of heart failure. Kaarlo was born in Detroit, Michi- gan on October 30, 1923, a son of the late Matti and Hilja (Oja) Hill. Kaarlo grew up in Newbury, Michi- gan. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, Storekeeper Second Class V6 USNR SV on the USS General G.O. Squier (AP-130). Mr. Hill made his home in Am- herst for 43 years. Prior to his re- tirement, he worked at J.C. Penney, Holly Hill Construction, K.M. Con- struction & M.E. O’Brien & Sons. He enjoyed working on his home and puttering in the yard with his Kubota tractor. He was prede- ceased by his wife of 64 years, Mil- dred S. Hill, who died in 2010 and their son, Jeffrey B. Hill, who died in 2005. Family mem- bers include his daughter and son-in-law, Karen and omas Mc- Clintick; and one grandchild, Luke McClintick, all of Milford. Funeral services are private. Burial will be in Am- herst, NH at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Living at Home Se- nior Care, 10 Northern Blvd., Unit 18, Amherst, NH 03031 and will be applied to an education fund for the nurse’s aid program. Souhegan Valley Chorus Prepares for Spring Concerts, May 14 and 15 AMHERST – is spring Souhe- gan Valley Chorus is offering area residents TWO opportunities to enjoy its annual spring concert this year. e first is on Saturday, May 14, at 7:00 p.m. at the Souhe- gan High School Auditorium. e second performance is on Sunday afternoon, May 15 in the Milford Town Hall at 2:00 p.m. e concert titled “Hope, Faith, Light and Love – Songs for a Trou- bled World” includes numerous songs both familiar and new explor- ing these themes, from traditional ballads and spirituals to contempo- rary choral pieces. “Moonlight Be- comes You,” “High Hopes,” “When the Saints Go Marching In,” and “It Was a Lover and His Lass” are just a few of the familiar and entertaining pieces the chorus will be singing. Souhegan Valley Chorus, with over 50 singers from towns in and around the Souhegan Valley, is di- rected by Jennifer K. Erdody and ac- companied by Laura Kennedy. is year’s concerts will also feature a special guest perform- er, Clara Kennedy, 2001 graduate of Milford High School and 2005 graduate of e Julliard School. Clara, an accomplished cello player will accompany the chorus in the moving string accompaniment to “Lead Kindly Light.” And in addi- tion, Clara will perform several solo vocal numbers from the new direc- tion she’s developing in her profes- sional musical career, that of world folk and traditional early jazz. Area people who heard Clara sing in her Milford Town Hall performance in January haven’t stopped talk- ing about the quality of her voice and the extraordinary emotion she pours into every song. She’s a vo- cal talent you’ll long remember, and SVC is pleased to offer our audienc- es this opportunity to hear her. e addition of a second concert and participation of Ms. Kennedy are made possible through a grant from the Arthur L. Keyes Memo- rial Trust. Kaarlo W. Hill, 87, resi-dent of Amherst, NH, died April 12, 2011 at his daughter’s home in Milford, from complications of heart failure.

Souhegan Valley Chorus Prepares for Spring Concerts, May 14 and 15

AMHERST – This spring Souhe-gan Valley Chorus is offering area residents TWO opportunities to enjoy its annual spring concert this year. The first is on Saturday, May 14, at 7:00 p.m. at the Souhe-gan High School Auditorium. The second performance is on Sunday afternoon, May 15 in the Milford Town Hall at 2:00 p.m.

The concert titled “Hope, Faith, Light and Love – Songs for a Trou-bled World” includes numerous songs both familiar and new explor-ing these themes, from traditional ballads and spirituals to contempo-rary choral pieces. “Moonlight Be-comes You,” “High Hopes,” “When the Saints Go Marching In,” and “It Was a Lover and His Lass” are just a few of the familiar and entertaining pieces the chorus will be singing.

Souhegan Valley Chorus, with over 50 singers from towns in and around the Souhegan Valley, is di-rected by Jennifer K. Erdody and ac-companied by Laura Kennedy.

This year’s concerts will also feature a special guest perform-er, Clara Kennedy, 2001 graduate of Milford High School and 2005 graduate of The Julliard School. Clara, an accomplished cello player will accompany the chorus in the

moving string accompaniment to “Lead Kindly Light.” And in addi-tion, Clara will perform several solo vocal numbers from the new direc-tion she’s developing in her profes-sional musical career, that of world folk and traditional early jazz. Area people who heard Clara sing in her Milford Town Hall performance in January haven’t stopped talk-ing about the quality of her voice and the extraordinary emotion she pours into every song. She’s a vo-cal talent you’ll long remember, and SVC is pleased to offer our audienc-es this opportunity to hear her.

The addition of a second concert and participation of Ms. Kennedy are made possible through a grant from the Arthur L. Keyes Memo-rial Trust. Come celebrate spring’s promise of new beginnings with Souhegan Valley Chorus and uplift-ing songs of “Hope, Faith, Light and Love.”
