Obedience vs. Responsibility

Obedience: the child is expected to do what he/she is told.

The decision and motivation come from outside the child.

Responsibility: Involves the child’s acceptance of the task and motivation for finishing the job.

Components of Responsibility Understanding a task (Make sure you are clear in what is expected)

Acceptance of the task (need to be clear of if this is a choice)
