Now Sarai Abram’s wife bore him no children: & she had a handmaid, an Egyptian called Hagar. Genesis 16:1-4 And Abram harkened to the voice of Sarai. And Sarai took Hagar her maid, the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt 10 years in Canaan & gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife. And He went into Hagar & she conceived; & when she saw that she had conceived Her mistress was despised in her eyes. Sarai said to Abram, ‘My wrong is upon you: I gave my maid to your bosom & when she saw that she conceived, I was despised in her eyes.

Then Abraham fell on his face & laughed & said in his heart, Shall a child be born to him that is 100 years old? Shall Sarah who is 90 years old, bare?

And the Lord visited Sarah as He said & the Lord did unto Sarah as He had spoken. For Sarah conceived and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time which God had spoken to him.

And Abraham called his son Isaac And Abraham circumcized him at 8 days as God commanded him. And Abraham was 100 years old. Genesis 21: 1 – 5

And God said, ‘Sarah your wife shall bear you a son indeed & you shall call his name Isaac. I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant & with his seed after him.’ Genesis 17:19

And the child grew and was weaned & Abraham made a great feast the same day.And Sarah saw the son of Hagar, the Egyptian, which she had born to Abraham, mocking. So she said to Abraham, ‘Cast out this bondwoman & her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac. Genesis 21:8-11

And the thing was very grievous with Abraham because of his son Ishmael God said to him, ‘Let it not be grievous in your sight because of the lad & be of your bondwoman; in all that Sarah has said to you, listen to her voice, for in Isaac shall your seed be called. God calls Isaac Araham’s only Son!

And Sarai dealt harshly with Hagar and she fled from her face. And the Angel of the Lord found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness & told her to return & submit to Sarai.The Angel also tells her she will name her son Ishmael & “he will be a wild man. Now we brethren are the children of the promise But as he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.

What says the scripture? ’Cast out the bondwoman & her son: for the bondwoman’s son won’t inherit with the son of the freewoman.
