O SACRUM CONVIVIUM (O SACRED BANQUET)
O sacrum convivium!
in quo Christus sumitur:
recolitur memoria passionis eius:
mens impletur gratia:
et futurae gloriae nobis pignus datur.
(Translation of the original Latin)
O sacred banquet!
in which Christ is received,
the memory of his Passion is renewed,
the mind is filled with grace,
and a pledge of future glory to us is given.

HYMNS DURING PROCESSION
PANGE LINGUA GLORIOSI (SING OF GLORY)
1. Pange, lingua, gloriosi
Corporis mysterium
Sanguinisque pretiosi,
Quem in mundi pretium
Fructus ventris generosi
Rex effudit gentium.
2. Sing of glory and his body,
Wondrous myst’ry to behold,
Blood poured out in death and dying,
Royal gift so cheaply sold.
First a mother’s selfless off’ring
Ransom now for sins untold.
3. Gift for us and gift forever,
From the virgin’s womb was born,
Flesh of flesh and one among us,
Crucified and put to scorn,
That the Gospel seed might scatter
As of old the Lord had sworn.
3. At the last, the paschal supper,
With his friends before they fled,
First he ate the meal of passage,
Paschal lamb and paschal bread;
Then himself as food he offered
That the many might be fed.
4. Word made flesh, by word made present,
Body broken for the Feast,
And his blood, the cup of blessing,
Shed for all by Christ the Priest:
Though the senses fail and falter,
Faith confirms true hearts in peace.

JESU DUCIS MEMORIA (IN HONOUR OF THE NAME OF JESUS)
1. Jesu dulcis memoria,
Dans vera cordis gaudia:
Sed super mel et omnia,
Ejus dulcis praesentia.
2. Nil canitur suavius,
Nil auditor jucundius,
Nil cogitator dulcius,
Quam Jesu Dei Filius.
3. Jesu spes paenitentibus,
Quam pius es petentibus!
Quam bonus te quaerentibus!
Sed quid invenientibus?
4. Sis Jesu nostrum gaudium,
Qui es futurus praemium:
Sit nostra in te Gloria,
Per cuncta semper saecula. Amen.
1. How sweet the memory of Jesus,
giving joy to true hearts;
but beyond honey and all else,
is the sweetness of His presence.
2. Nothing is sung more agreeably,
nothing heard more delightfully,
nothing thought more sweetly,
than Jesus the Son of God.
3. Jesus, hope of penitents,
how kind to those who beg,
how good to those who seek:
but what art Thou to those who find Thee!
4. Be thou, O Jesus, our joy,
Who shall be our future reward:
may our glory be in Thee.
Through everlasting ages. Amen.
BENEDICTION
Down in adoration falling
This great Sacrament we hail,
Ancient types have long departed;
Newer rites of grace prevail
Faith for all defects supplying
Where the feeble senses fail.
Glory let us give and blessing,
To the Father and the Son
Honour, might and praise addressing
While eternal ages run
Equal praise to Him confessing
Who proceeds from both as one. Amen.
Celebrant: You have given them bread from heaven.
Assembly: Having itself all delight.

O SACRAMENT MOST HOLY
1. O Jesus, we adore you,
Who in your love divine,
Conceal your mighty Godhead
In forms of bread and wine.
(Refrain)
O Sacrament most holy,
O Sacrament divine,
All praise and all thanksgiving
Be ev’ry moment thine!
5. O Jesus, we adore you,
Our victim and our priest,
Whose precious blood and body
Become our sacred feast.
6. O Jesus, we adore you,
Our Saviour and our King,
And with the saints and angels
Our humble homage bring.
O SAVING VICTIM (O SALUTARIS HOSTIA)
1. O saving Victim, op’ning wide
The gate of heav’n to us below,
Our foes press on from every side;
Thine aid supply, thy strength bestow.
2. All praise and thanks to thee ascend
Forever more, blest One in Three;
O grant us life that shall not end
In our true native land with thee.
SOUL OF MY SAVIOR
1. Soul of my Savior, sanctify my breast;
Body of Christ, be thou my saving guest;
Blood of my Savior, bathe me in thy tide;
Wash me with water flowing from his side.
2. Strength and protection may thy Passion be;
O Blessed Jesus, hear and answer me;
Deep in thy wounds, Lord, hide and shelter
me;
So shall I never, never part from thee. 5. Hear me, Lord Jesus, listen as I pray;
“Lead me from night to never ending day.
Fill all the world with love and grace divine,
And glory, laud, and praise be ever thine.”
BEAUTIFUL SAVIOR
1. Beautiful Saviour,
King of Creation,
Son of God and Son of Man!
Truly I’d love thee,
Truly I’d serve thee,
Light of my soul, my joy, my crown.
2. Fair are the meadows,
Fair are the woodlands,
Robed in flow’rs of blooming spring;
Jesus is fairer,
Jesus is purer;
He makes our sorr’wing spirit sing.
3. Fair is the sunshine,
Fair is the moonlight,
Bright the sparkling stars on high;
Jesus shines brighter,
Jesus shines purer
Than all the angels in the sky.
4. Beautiful Saviour,
Lord of the nations,
Son of God and Son of Man!
Glory and honour,
Praise, adoration,
Now and forever more be thine!
