The Future - Interoperability
Interoperability with Partner Organisations
• Only OFCOM approved Public Safety Organisations can use Airwave
• And must hold a TEA2 licence – via CSIA
• All “Blue Light” services, MOD and Environment Agency, etc. fully approved
But….
• Local Authority Emergency Planning Teams and Uniformed Street Wardens, Health Trust Personnel , Gas, Electricity and Water emergency repair teams are generically approved but MUST APPLY TO OFCOM for full approval before they can use Airwave.
The Firelink Project
• A DCLG project to replace current FRS Radio schemes
• Delivering and installing a national radio system throughout England, Scotland & Wales by the end of 2009
