WOOLWORTHS CRICKET
Dear Parents/Carers,
What a beautiful day we had yesterday … jumping in the occasional
puddle!! Congratulations to students who participated in the
NYNGBAR carnival last week. Students had a fantastic day,
demonstrating great sportsmanship whilst cheering for each other.
As the weather cools a little I would like to ask parents to dig deep
for a navy jumper for your child/ren. If you are looking to purchase a
new navy jumper for 2020, the uniformed jumper is a sloppy joe with
/ without a hood. Children will not be permitted to wear the hood in
class.
Mrs Bright and our debating students are off to training on Tuesday.
Have a great day. Learn lots!
I look forward to going on class on Monday in support of PLP day. It
is hoped that all parents have arranged to have time to talk with
teachers and support their children in establishing a learning goal or
2. These goals will be revisited at a follow up PLP day in Term 2.
Wednesday is set to be a very busy day at Nyngan PS with the
delivery of class and middle module furniture for all classrooms and
modules. Please phone Nyngan PS on 68 321 605 if you or your
friends / family would like a school desk … or 10 as we are looking
to rehome our current furniture – free of charge.
Many thanks to students, parents, staff and community groups who
took part in our community research project over the last 2 days. One
of the many findings included that we all want the best learning
outcomes for the students of Nyngan PS.

Last Friday, 21 students competed at the Nyngbar carnival in Cobar. We would like to
congratulate all students who swam on the day and we are very proud of how well they
represented our school. It was great to hear the students cheering each other on.
We would like to wish the following students all the best as they have qualified to represent
NYNGBAR on Friday 13th March at the Western District Swimming trials in Dubbo –

NETBALL
A big thankyou to Monique Wye for organising funding from the
Sporting Schools program again this year. The next 5 weeks we
have Rowie, a development officer, from Netball NSW
conducting skills and drills with our students on a Friday. Her
first session was today and the children were all very enthusiastic
and cannot wait to learn more next week.
PUBLIC SPEAKING
NPS Public Speaking competition will be held on
Wednesday 25th March at 9am in the auditorium.
Interested students will need to prepare a speech at home
no longer than 2 minutes on a topic of their own choice
eg: famous people, sports, hobbies etc. If your child
needs help with their speech please see Mrs Bartley in
the Library at recess or lunch. Two successful entrants
from Stage 2 and Stage 3 will then progress to represent
NPS at the CWA Public Speaking at Narromine on
Tuesday 26th May.
