DIVISION 21
NEWSLETTER 1
New York District Key Club May 2016
Lieutenant Governor’s Greeting
Hello Division 21! As we come to the end of the school year, I know it can be easy to forget
about Key Club and service amid a fervor of excitement for the
coming months. I myself am looking forward to lifeguarding at Kirk Park in Syracuse, and spending time with my friends who will be going off to college in the fall. However, if we can all
remember to take a few days out of our summer to benefit out communities, we can have a great impact over the break. I hope you all enjoy this newsletter, and your summer break!

Paperwork Status Thanks to the clubs who have been consistent in submitting their paperwork. If your club hasn’t, theres no better time to start than now! The May MRF is due on June 10th, and it’ll only take a few
minutes to fill out! Paperwork is important to monitor the wider impact our clubs have as well as to earn awards and recognition. Also, big thanks to JD for completing their Election Report Form already! If your club has selected new officers, please let me know
who they are and give me their contact information ASAP, so that I can continue to aid your club’s efforts in the future.

Over The Summer Although the school year is ending, the new service year is just getting started. It’s important to remember that people and organizations in our communities still need help during the summer months. Key Clubs have a bad habit of taking the summer off. My goal is for our division to buck that trend this summer. Try to participate or organize at least one fundraiser or event with your club during the break! Here are a few ideas you might consider: • Have a car wash. • Hold a drive. Collect clothes, swimsuits, books, or
school supplies to help those in need. • Pick up litter around your community. • Work with organizations such as Meals on Wheels
to aid members of your community. • Volunteer at a food bank, soup kitchen, or pantry. • More ideas to come at the divisional meeting!
