NYC Famous Skyscrapers

S  The most famous sky scraper ever to be built was the Empire State Building. The reason why its so famous is because it was one of the first skyscrapers ever to be built. It was built from 1930 to 1931. It was the tallest building in the world back then. When I was 4 years old I went in the Empire State Building. When I was at the top my belly was going crazy. I found out there was another floor, we went up and I could see all of NYC. After we went to the gift shop I saw a plaque saying this building was the tallest building in the world in the 1930s.

The Chrysler Building was one of the first Skyscraper in the world. The building was built from 1929 to 1930. They built this building because in 1929 the Great Depression lost people a lot of jobs, therefore they decided to build new buildings to create new jobs.

S The Bloomberg Building is named after former Mayor Michael Bloomberg. The reason why it’s named after him is because he owns the building.

The Citi Group Center is a Skyscraper where it is the home to many NYC companies. The building is located on 53rd street in New York City. The building is famous for its triangle shape at the top of the Skyscraper.

The Citibank Building is located in Queens, NY. The building was named after a bank called Citibank. The building was built from 2004 to 2009.

The MetLife Building is a building that is located on 45th street right under grand central. This building was made in 1958 to 1962.

The Trump Building is a Skyscraper named after Donald Trump. The building was built in 1979 to 1983. The Trump Tower is used for Donald Trumps Real Estate Company.

S  The World Trade Center is a brand new Building. Before this one was built, two buildings were destroyed in an attack. Now a new and safer building is built. It took 10 years to build it.

History about skyscrapers   Skyscrapers have always been the beauty of a city. These types of buildings have been around since the 1920s the first skyscraper ever to be built in the world was the Chrysler building in New York City. The height of the building was 1,046 feet tall. Later the Empire state building was constructed and was 1,250 feet tall the E.S.B became the tallest building in the world today skyscrapers are taller now. In the 1930s when people started building skyscrapers people died on the job. This bad tragedy happened because they didn’t have harness because of poor or non-existing protective devices.  

The building of skyscraper may or may not take a long time to build. The Empire State Building only took one year to build! The World Trade Center took over 10 years to build. In the 1900s a 10story building was called a “skyscraper.” As time passed now skyscrapers are just a reality now there is competition for the tallest buildings in the world even though skyscrapers look good doesn’t mean there easy to build.  

Skyscrapers are supposed to last more than 150 years. Two buildings only lasted 21 years. These buildings were called the twin towers. The twin towers were two famous skyscrapers because they had they had famous company’s that worked in those buildings then something bad happened. On September 11 2001 two hijacked planes crashed into the World Trade Center. The world trade center was destroyed. Finally when they finished cleaning. A new skyscraper rose out of the ashes known as the One World Trade Center.  

In conclusion if you were ever in a famous skyscraper think in your mind that you were in history. The reason why skyscraper gets famous is because it depends where it’s built or if famous companies are in it
