TheNVIDIAAutoCADPerformanceDriverisanNVIDIAQuadroworkstation

feature. TheNVIDIAAutoCADPerformanceDriver(software)isseamlesslyintegratedintotheAutoCADenvironmentandcontainssignificantimprovementsoverexistingdrivertechnology.

TheAutoCADPerformanceDriversupportstheAutodeskAutoCADsoftware,includingthemostrecentreleasesof2007,2008,2009,and2010.DevelopedinclosecollaborationwithAutodesk,theAutoCADPerformanceDriverisafree,downloadablesoftwaredrivercapableofdeliveringdramaticperformanceimprovementsofupto10Xonsometests,whencoupledwithNVIDIAQuadroFXprofessionalgraphicssolutions.

Note:TheAutoCADPerformanceDriver2009and2010deliversacceleratedperformanceonbothOpenGLandDirect3D.

Configuring Features

OnceyouhavecompletedtheNVIDIAAutoCADPerformanceDriverinstallation,theAutoCADapplicationselectstheAutoCADPerformanceDriverasthedefault.

Atthispoint,youwillnoticetheperformancebenefits.Ifyoudonotexperienceimprovedperformance,youcanmanuallycheckandselectthecorrectsettingsusing

thestepsbelow.

1 AfterstartingtheAutoCADapplication,verifythattheNVIDIAperformancedriverisactive.

2 TobringuptheManualPerformanceTuningdialogbox,fromthecommandline,type3DCONFIGandinthedialogbox,selectManualTune.

3 IntheDriverNamelist,verifythattheperformancedriverisselected. InAutoCAD2008,thedrivernameisnvgl9.hdi

Accelerated Performance

WiththeAutoCADPerformanceDriver,Quadrographicsboardsdeliveruptofivetimestheperformance,comparedtoconsumergraphics,whenusingAutoCADs3D

HiddenvisualstyleandenablesfastermanipulationofmodelsintheConceptualandRealisticvisualstyles.

The3DHiddenvisualstyleessentiallydrawsobjectsinawaythatallowsdepthcuestoberetainedwithminimallightingeffects.
