•Give the student a capacity for independent and critical assessment
•Ability to solve problems independently
•Ability to follow developments within the nursing area.
• Post graduate courses; general for all students (about 10 weeks) and specific in relation to the studies and subject (about 30 weeks)
• A main supervisor and at least one co-supervisor
• Regular seminars (once a month)
• The thesis: 4 papers (2 have to be published/accepted) and a theoretical framework. Thesis being defended during a public seminar with an opponent and an external examination board.
• Graduation once a year for all new PhDs at Lund University in the cathedral (in the end of May every year)
