    Course Duration : 4 years

    Admission Procedure : Through All India Common En trance Test conducted by Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth , Pune .

    Entry Qualification : H.S.C. or any other examination equivalent to 10+2 HSC examination of any recogn izedBoard/ University after 12 years of study.

    45% for gene ral category and 40% for reserved catego ry. Specifically in PCBE subjects.

    Admission Requirements

    The minimum age for admission shall be 17 yea rs on or be fore 31st Dec. of the year of admission.The minimum educational requirements sha ll be the pass ing of :

    1. Higher Secondary school Certificate Examination (12 years course)

    2. Or

    Senior School Certificate Examination (10+2) , Pre-degree Examination (10+2)

    3. Or

    An equivalent w ith 12 years schooling from a recognized Board or University with Science (Physics,

    Chemistry & Biology) & English w ith minimum of 45% a ggrega te marks(PCBE), For reserve cate gory

    40%.

    Candidate shall be medically fit.

    Entrance /Selection Test

    Selections of the candidates should be based on the merit of the entrance examination conducted by Vidyapeeth or

    Competent Authority

    Duration : Duration of the course shall be four years including internship.

    Vacation : 6 we eks vacation sha ll be given each year.

    Aims : The aim of the undergraduate nursing programme is to

    Prepare graduates to ass ume responsibilities as professional, competent nurses and

    midw ives in providing promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative s ervices.

    Prepare nurses who can independent de cisions in nursing situations, protect the rights of and

    facilitate individuals and groups in pursuit of he alth, function in the hospital , community

    nursing services and conduct research studies in the areas of nursing practice. They are also

    expected to a ssume the role of teacher, supervisor and Mana ger in a clinical / public health

    setting.

    Objectives

    On completion of the four yea r B.Sc. Nursing Programme the graduate will be able to

    Apply knowledge from physical, biological and behavioural sciences medicine including alternative s ystems

    and nursing in providing nursing care to individuals, families and communities.

    Demonstrate understanding of life style and o ther factors, which effect health individuals and groups .

    Provide nursing care based on steps of nursing process in collaboration with the individuals & groups.

    Demonstrate critical thinking skill in making de cisions in all situations in orde r to p rovide qua lity care.

    Utilize the latest trends and technology in providing health care.

    Provide promotive, preventive and resto rative health se rvices in line w ith national health policies and

    programmes.

    Practice within the framework of code of ethics and professional conduct and acceptable standards of

    practice within the legal boundaries.

    Communicate effectively with individuals and groups and members of the health team in order to promote

    effective interpersonal relationships and teamwork.

    Demonstrate skills in teaching to individuals and groups in clinical / community hea lth sett ings.

    Participate effectively as members o f the health team in hea lth care delivery system.Demonstrate leade rship and managerial skills in clinical / community health se ttings.

    Conduct need based research studies in various s ettings and utilize the research feedings to improve the

    quality of care.

    Demonstrate a warene ss, interest and contribute towards advancement of self and of the profession.
