Catalog Course Description: Within the framework of transition, the focus is on nursing care to promote healthy transitions for individuals and families with chronic health conditions in well-defined practice settings. Situational transitions transition of the individual to the nursing student role and the client’s admission to and movement within the healthcare system are included. Concepts of nutrition and pharmacology are integrated. Emphasis is on the student’s development as a caring, competent nurse within the legal/ethical framework of the profession, using critical thinking, evidence-based practice principles, communication and time management skills.
