one = the first two = the second three = the third five perde la e e la v cambia in f = the fifth eight non raddoppia la t = the eighth nine perde la e = the ninth twelve perde la e e la v cambia in f = the twelfth tutti i numeri che terminano con la y cambiano la y in ie (ad esempio: twenty = the twentieth)
Plurale

Countables and uncountables
“a bike”), mentre nei sostantivi non numerabili possiamo inserire “some” e “any” (così come nei numerabili) o “a little” e “much”.
Si usa “many” con i sostantivi numerabili (ad es. many people o many biscuits);
Much milk o much tea).
1. How much / how many English friends have you got?
2. How much / how many orange juice is there in the fridge?

- Azioni abituali (ad es. “I get up at seven o’ clock every day”/”Mi sveglio alle sette ogni mattina)
- Fatti SEMPRE veri (ad es. “They speak German in Austria”/”Si parla tedesco in Austria”)
Forma negativa Esempio Forma interrogativa EsempioI don't I don't read Do I Do I read? You don't Yuo don't read Do you Do you read?He doesn't He doesn't read Does he Does he read? She doesn't She doesn't read Does she Does she read?It doesn't It doesn't read Does it Does it read?We don't We don't read Do we Do we read? You don't You don't read Do you Do you read? They don't They don't read Do they Do they read?
You go -> He goes)
You study -> He studies)
You say -> He says)

3. No, she isn’t reading a book
4. Yes, he’s working in the garden
I play-ed basketball two days ago).
work (lavorare)
walk (camminare)

Forma interrogativa
DID + SOGGETTO + FORMA BASE
Did you work last night?
(Hai lavorato ieri sera?)
Forma negativa SOGG. + DID + NOT + FORMA BASE

1. You’re at school now 2. They are at home now 3. You play tennis on Mondays 4. She starts working at 9 o’clock 5. We want to find another house 6. We aren’t satisfied

1. Did you immagine that?
2. Did Emma and Sara enjoy their holiday?
3. Did Thomas go to Neil’s party?
4. Did you pass the test?

Forma Esempio
Forma affermativa I used to work
Forma interrogativa I didn’t use to work
Forma negativa Did I use to work?
- Ci riferiamo ad azioni passate con un risultato nel presente (ad es. I have lost my keys, I can’t get in/Ho perso le mie chiavi, non posso entrare);
We’ve played volleyball/Abbiamo giocato a pallavolo)
In inglese In italiano Esempio
Already Già We have already eaten
Just Appena
Still Ancora I still haven’t made the placement test
Yet a) ancora (in frasi negative)b) già (in frasi interrogative)
a) I haven't met him yet.b) Have you met him yet?

- I have known him since 1985 ( Lo conosco dal 1985 )- I have known him for three years ( Lo conosco da tre anni )

soggetto
I will be 18 tomorrow (Avrò 18 anni domani)
A: We haven’t got enoughmilk at home (Non abbiamo abbastanza lattea casa)B: I’ll go and buy some(Vado a comprarne unPo’)
Esprimere una previsionesul futuro (ad es. Penso succederà questo)
I think I will leave Tomorrow (Penso meNe andrò domani)
To Be Going To
Esprimere un’intenzione I’m going to pass the placement test this month (Ho intenzione di passare il test di ammissione questo mese | ve lo auguro!)
I’m visiting London in July (Visiterò Londra a Luglio)
Simple Present
The train leaves at six (Il treno partirà alle 6)
4. Tutto è pronto. Partiamo col treno domani mattina alle 7, arriviamo a Firenze alle 10, là incontreremo i nostri amici e in auto andremo a Viareggio
Notiamo le differenze:I’m spending the new year in London (Passerò il capodanno a Londra) è diverso daI may/might spend the new year in London (Forse passerò il capodanno a Londra).
I’m going to buy a new pair of jeans (Comprerò un nuovo paio di jeans) è diverso daI may/might buy a new pair of jeans (Forse comprerò un nuovo paio di jeans).
