Service Above Self

Object of Rotary: The

Object of Rotary is to

encourage and foster the ideal

of service as a basis of worthy

enterprise and, in particular, to

encourage and foster:

FIRST: The development of

acquaintance as an opportunity

for service;

SECOND: High ethical

standards in business and

professions, the recognition of

the worthiness of all useful

occupations and the dignifying

of each Rotarian’s occupation

as an opportunity to serve

society;

THIRD: The application of

ideal of service by every

Rotarian to hi/her/ personal,

business and community life;

FOURTH: The

advancement of international

understanding, goodwill and

peace through a world

fellowship of business and

professional persons united in

the ideals of service.

THE 4-WAY TEST

Of the Things we Think,

Say or Do:

1. Is it the TRUTH?

2. Is it FAIR to all

concerned?

3. Will it build

GOODWILL and better

FRIENDSHIPS?

4. Will it be

BENEFICIAL to all

concerned?

From Tom Wallace, Meal-on-Wheels

Program Chair

I was speaking with Debbie Martinez, the

new site manager for MOW in West

Sacramento (Anthony is still involved but

at a higher, supervisory level). She said

they are in real need of volunteers—

particularly for Route 6 on Wednesdays

and Thursdays. I told Debbie I would

contact all you great Rotarians to see if

anyone would be interested in taking on

another day—not weekly but perhaps

every two or 4 weeks.

If so, please call Debbie at 373-5805

Evenings

Chunks from the Buzzsaw We had Jessica, Denise, Stacy, Joelle, Marina and Jenna

from our RCHS Interact Club serving appetizers and

helping with the dinner at our Foundation dinner. The

students reported to the Interact Club they had fun helping

us.

We have two more Interact meetings and hopefully we will have an end of

the year celebration at Wicked West Pizza in May.

We have ordered Interact sashes for the 15 graduating seniors.
