Do Now:Why were American ambassadors (Pinckney, Marshall, and Gerry) sent to Paris, France?According to the song, what France did was not cool. What did France do?John Adams made peace with Napoleon (French leader) but made it hard for the French Aliens. How did Adams make it hard for French aliens?

The states of Kentucky and Virginia refused to accept the Alien & Sedition Acts and believed they could nullify (reject, ignore) the law

The Resolutions represented the first time that States called for rejecting a National law.
