Bachelor of Engineering with Business Minor #This is a programme jointly offered by the College of Engineering and the Nanyang Business School. The curriculum is purposefully structured such that the Engineering core inculcates analytical, problem-solving and entrepreneurial skill in students, while the Business minor empowers them with the know-how in the various aspects of business management. The programme is a winning combination that will equip graduates with the necessary technical skills and a good understanding of today’s business essentials, giving them a head-start in their careers.

# Applicable to all single Engineering degree programmes except Maritime Studies

As one of the largest engineering colleges in the world with six constituent Schools, 16,000 students, 1,800 faculty and staff, the College of Engineering offers a rich array of multidisciplinary programmes and specialisations catering to the varied interests, talents and career aspirations of our students.

We aim to nurture well-rounded engineer leaders who are flexible across disciplines and not limited by national boundaries. The holistic and versatile education you receive at the College will give you a strong and sustainable foundation for an exciting future, diversity in engineering professions and global leadership.

Our engineering programmes are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Board, a body set up by the Institution of Engineers Singapore. For the newer programmes, we have obtained provisional accreditation or applied for provisional accreditation. Full accreditation of newer programmes can only be considered after two batches of students have graduated. Under the Washington Accord, accredited engineering degrees are internationally recognised by all 13 signatory members, which include Australia, Singapore, the United Kingdom and the United States, giving you more opportunities to pursue a global career.

A Revolutionary Learning Experience The Blue Ribbon Commission (BRC) on Undergraduate Education w was convened by the University in August 2007 to review all aspects of undergraduate education in NTU. Central to the BRC’s key recommendations is the revamp of the undergraduate curriculum. The new BRC engineering curriculum boasts such salient features as a student-centric programme with a balance between deepening and broadening, more offerings of multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary courses and greater flexibility in curriculum. It would also provide engineering students with more opportunities for personal development and self-learning.

Global Discovery Programme (GDP)GDP is a partially funded four week study and visit programme that aims to give the participants a broad understanding of emerging economies such as Vietnam and India. Rather than simply presenting and discussing business related issues within the confines of a classroom the program encourages them to make their own evaluation through field trips and networking sessions with local representatives of business houses, management boards and investment firms.

Students will also have the opportunity to engage both faculty members and local students in discussions on the several aspects of doing business in these markets. By the end of the programme they will have gained a sweeping review of the historical evolution of the country/region, its governance system and the economic transformation that is now taking place there, not to mention the excursions and visits to the many fascinating places of interest. Academic Units will awarded to each participant upon his/her successful completion of the programme.

Overseas Attachment ProgrammeThe Overseas Attachment Programme is a unique learning experience for students to experience life outside Singapore. Based on a strong partnership between NTU and the industry, the programme allows students to widen their perspective of the working world, enhance their employability and career mobility worldwide upon graduation.

With attachments available in Australia, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Nepal, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, The Netherlands, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and United States, participation in this programme will empower the students with the capabilities to compete locally and internationally.

Global Immersion Programme (GIP)NTU’s flagship GIP gives specially selected students the opportunity to travel abroad for work and/or study or research immersions in China, India, Indonesia, Europe (Denmark, France, Germany and Switzerland), United States or Vietnam to gain a thorough global experience.

The programme gives students a deeper understanding of the unique culture, way of life, entrepreneurial spirit, and energy of some of the world’s most exciting and dynamic economics. The balance between rigorous academic grounding and global perspectives is paramount in helpingstudents to develop an edge in their career, build a global network and achieve significant personal development.

International Student Exchange Programme (INSTEP)Students under the INSTEP programme will have the opportunity to spend a semester or two living and studying abroad. This experience allows students to broaden their horizons by giving them a taste of an international student life while pursuing their NTU degree. Students will return not only with new knowledge, but with an increased cultural understanding and a broader perspective.

The programme provides opportunities from some 150 partner universities spanning across more than 30 countries. A world of adventure awaits.

Global Summer Studies (GSS)With GSS, you will have the opportunity to spend your summer break at prestigious universities in Asia, Europe and Americas. GSS lets you make full use of your university vacation while adding value to your academic studies.

Some of the benefits are:• Earningasmanyas8academicunits.• Animmersiveexperienceoftheacademiccultureand heritage of the university and country.• Anopportunitytogainglobalexposureandnetworkwith peers and professors at other prestigious universities.• NolimitsonvacanciesatuniversitiesunderGSSAmericas• FirstYearandFinalYearstudentsmayalsoapply.
