PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE What an already exciting start to the term it has been for us, with catch up intensive swim lessons and both school and district swimming carnivals. In the classroom, we continue to pave the way towards academic success for our students through personalised learning plans and individual goal setting. Literacy and Numeracy continues to be a major focus for our students looking to extend upon some wonderful progress achieved last year. Keep up the wonderful effort boys and girls!
DISTRICT SWIMMING CARNIVAL Thank you to students, staff and parents for making our District Swimming Carnival such a wonderful day. The sportsmanship and spirit of competition shown by all students was fantastic to observe. Well done to those students who qualified for the Zone Carnival.

URBENVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOL FACEBOOK PAGE We are pleased to announce Urbenville Public School has a new Facebook page. We encourage all staff, parents, volunteers and community members to visit the page and show your support by clicking ‘like’ on any comment or photo that tickles your fancy! This platform will add another important outlet for communication as well as promoting the wonderful things our small school is doing. CLEAN UP AUSTRALIA DAY – Fri 28th February What was started thirty years ago, by an "average Australian bloke" who had a simple idea to make a difference in his own backyard has now become the nation's largest community-based environmental event. Urbenville PS students will again be patrolling our school grounds and surrounding area as part of Clean Up Australia Day to ensure our community is litter free. AGED CARE HOME – Commencing Week 4 Unfortunately, due to the change in our District Swimming Carnival, we had to postpone our aged care visit for this week. We are looking to re-engage with our visits Monday of week 6. Thank you to our Aged Care Home for being so flexible with facilitating these valuable learning experiences for our small school. P&C NEWS – 2020 AGM – Friday 28th February Apologies for anyone inconvenienced by the cancellation of our P&C’s AGM last Friday 14th February. We have rescheduled the AGM meeting to take place on Friday 28th February at 3.15pm. We encourage our parents and local community members to come along and take part in our meetings as we are always looking for fresh input on ways to help support our school and the students. See you there!!
THE BIG VEGIE CRUNCH – Thurs 5th March Get ready for crunch time! Vegetable Week and The Big Vegie Crunch is just around the corner. On Thursday 5th March at 10am students will be eating their vegies in a collective effort to break 2018’s Crunch record of 50,260 students across NSW simultaneously eating vegies at the same time. Good luck kids!
CANTEEN VOLUNTEERS Students at Urbenville Public School enjoy a wonderful selection of fresh healthy foods provided by our very hardworking school canteen volunteers. If you are able to spare a few hours of a Wednesday to help support our already hard working canteen team, please contact the school for more information.
