ABOUT US

National Student Exchange (NSE) provides

accessible collegiate study away to

undergraduate students at nearly 170 colleges

and universities in the United States, Canada,

Guam, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Established in 1968, NSE has arranged exchange

opportunities for more than 120,000 students.

Study away through NSE includes diverse

university settings and access to a wide array

of courses, programs, field experiences, and

internships. Options for special programs,

honors, and study abroad are also available.

Students may exchange for a semester,

academic year, or summer, dependent upon

their academic program flexibility.

NSE features the affordability of tuition

reciprocity allowing students to study away

paying host institution resident tuition or the

normal tuition of the home campus. Work

completed while on exchange is transferred

back to the home institution and is generally

credited to the degree program.

FIND A CAMPUS

Students work with their home campus NSE

coordinator and academic advisor to plan for

study away with NSE. Select “Find a Campus”

at NSE.org to begin your search. Enter your

campus and the search will be customized for

you. If you are undecided, use the FILTER to

narrow down your options.

Once you have identified several NSE campuses

in which you are interested, visit each campus

profile. The profile contains a campus

description, academic programs, and campus-

specific information to assist you in your search

for an exchange.

Competitiveness of a campus placement is

determined by payment plan options, academic

programs, enrollment limitations, housing

availability, and the number of applicants for

exchange. Your NSE coordinator

will assist you to determine your likelihood of

placement. Students are encouraged to research

a first-choice campus and several back-up

choices for an NSE study away experience.
