RESPONSE TO COMMENTS ON THE TENTATIVE TERMINATION OF WASTE DISCHARGE REQUIREMENTS AND NATIONAL POLLUTANT DISCHARGE ELIMINATION SYSTEM PERMIT FOR NRG CALIFORNIA SOUTH LP, MANDALAY GENERATING STATION, OXNARD, CA (NPDES NO. CA0001180, Cl NO. 2093)

Thank you for your comments on the above referenced tentative termination order for NRG California South LP, Mandalay Generating Station, located at Oxnard, California. Attached is a table which includes the comments received and the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board (Regional Water Board or Board) responses to the comments. Comment letters received prior to the comment deadline on August 10, 2018, and the Regional Water Board responses will be posted on the Los Angeles Regional Water Board website at https://www.waterboards.ca.gov/losanqeles/board decisions/tentative orders/individual/nodes/ NRG California South LP/Mandalay/index. html.

In accordance with administrative procedures, this Regional Water Board at a public hearing to be held on September 13, 2018, at 9:00 A.M. , at Ventura County Government Center (Hall of Administration Main Plaza), 800 South Victoria Avenue, Ventura, CA 93009, will consider the tentative Order to terminate the WDRs and NPDES permit, and comments submitted in writing regarding any and all portions thereof. The Board will hear any testimony pertinent to this matter. It is expected that the Board will take action at the hearing; however, as testimony indicates, the Board, at its discretion, may order further investigation.
