Tuesday, April 17th, the Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce will be celebrating the success and accomplishment of the young leaders in our community. Each year, NRCC plans and organizes sessions for Northland high school juniors to learn more about leadership skills, community services, government and the future of the Northland.

During their graduation ceremony on April 17, the class will hear two presentations from their fellow classmates. NRCC is excited to have the 2012 program sponsors :Essential Elements Comprehensive College Planning, Baker University, City of Kansas City Missouri City Manager’s Office-Youth Advocacy, MCC-Maple Woods, Colorado Technical University and Park University. Join us in celebrating the 2012 Youth Leadership class as they conclude their four-month program during this luncheon graduation. Excellence in Education Banquet, Honoring Education in the Northland

The NRCC Education Committee cordially invites you to attend the 2012 Excellence in Education Banquet! The banquet will be Tuesday, May 1 at the KCI Expo Center. This annual education banquet celebrates Northland education and honors teachers, administrative staff, volunteers and businesses that support education in the Northland. The education banquet is the single largest event that the Chamber hosts each year and is often a sell-out event, so make your reservations early to guarantee a seat!

On March 8th NRCC celebrated the graduation of the 18th Leadership Northland Class, the Class of 2012. A reception, sponsored by ADT & Community America Credit Union, dinner and graduation ceremony held at Argosy Casino and Spa was highlighted by the evenings program speaker, Zel Fischer, Missouri Supreme Court Judge. Other highlights from the evening included a wrap up from Class President,

Brad Cope and presentation of awards by Bruce Cramer, Leadership Divisional Chair and 2004 leadership Northland graduate and Meredyth Melcher, Leadership Committee Chair and 2009 leadership Northland graduate. NRCC 2012 Business Expo, Successful Year for Vendors


The 2012 Business Expo was a successful year for our many vendors and guests who joined us on March 21st! Thanks to our luncheon sponsor, UMB, which included nearly 300 guests. Our featured speaker was Mayor Sly James and a video showing the 20 years of NRCC’s success. Exhibitors and hundreds of attendees found the true value of the Expo is not in the quantity of contacts that you make, but the quality of those contacts. With more than 75 vendors, it only takes one or two quality contacts to create new

business.
