The six stamps – with a face value of 60 qepik each - have the venues and one of them is the Crystal Hall where the volleyball tournament will take place. The volleyball stamp is announced together with 19 other sport stamps. Designer is Yevgeni Simonenko. On Jan. 29, 2008 to commemorate - Year of health / sport – a postal stationery card was issued with a volleyball cancel. Azermarka issued on Nov 19, 2014 two sheets with
three stamps each to commemorate the upcoming

In Belgium the women’s volleyball team is called: Yellow Tigers. The men’s team = Red Dragons and for example
the football team = Red Devils.

The Shanghai Philatelic Corporation
issued a (red) meter cancel on Oct. 11,
2014 to commemorate the 15th Shanghai Games with among others volleyball.
Cook Islands
Philatelic Collector Inc. in Sag Harbor, NY as the official
Philatelic Bureau of the Cook Islands released on June 23,
2014 two sets (Tourism I and II) of twelve stamps each. The set Tourism II has a beach volleyball stamp with a face
value of $ 4,10.
The stamps with the same value (6x4) are
printed se-tenant.

Italy
On Nov. 22, 2014 Poste Italiane issued in Verona Centro a cancel to
commemorate 123^ Veronafil with Verona per la pallavolo femminile.
Japan
Japan Post issued on March 26, 2014 a cancel to
commemorate the birthplace of mini-volleyball in Japan. Post office = Takai ?????
North Korea (DPRK)
The Korea Stamp Corporation issued on April 3, 2014 a sheetlet with the Munsu
Water Park in Pyongyang. The sheetlet
has a volleyball field in front. The Munsu Water Park – a project of Kim
Jong Un of course - was built in 9 months
and opened on October 15, 2013.
The sheetlet exists also imperforated.
Poland World championship update
Poczta Polską has the in-house rule
that cancels should be in black.
But the post offices in Bydgoszcz and Lodz used the
cancels in blue.
The Philatelic Dept. from Poczta Polską in Lublin used both
cancels in black.
The special ceremony on October 18th in the Olympic Centre POC in Warsaw was followed by an autograph session from Stephane Antiga during the XXI
National Philatelic Exhibition "Warsaw 2014”.

Three of the players in the sheet became already World Champion U21 in 2003. Poland won the final in Tehran (Iran) against……………Brazil.
The players are Michal Winiarski (captain, then also); Mariusz Wlazly and Marcin
Mozdzonek.

Recently I found on internet designs of the stamp and
FD cancel from Czech Republic which commemorates
the XXVII European championship men in 2011. The designs are from Jana Sýsová but were not
accepted by Česká pošta.
The rate for Priority Mail to European countries changed on Sep 1, 2010.

Quimper Volley 29 Elite issued on Dec. 19, 2011 seven
sheets with four personalized stamps each (2x2 female
players). Now they have a set of twenty stamps but they only can be
ordered in five booklets with ten stamps.

Niger
In VBnewsletter 18 I informed you about the issues from Guyana which
are cinderella’s. But there are much
more. This “issue” from Niger in 2012 is
another one.
The volleyball picture on it you can find on internet for many years
already and besides that the currency
from Niger is F(ranc) but not in red.
The sheet has as much sports as possible. THE MORAL OF THIS STORY: Internet created a lot of possibilities but also bad
ones.
USA
This space cover with a volleyball stamp commemorates the launching of the space shuttle Atlantis on Oct 3, 1985 but unfortunately the stamp has the wrong
cancel. It should have had the other one on the cover!!
