The National Pre-Owned Standards CoalitionTM

is an industry group dedicated to the consistent

promotion of national quality standards for pre-owned vehicles.

We provide consumers a mechanism to ensure they “get what they pay for” in the purchase of a

pre-owned vehicle. Members include executives from the auction, OEM, certification, inspection,

remarketing, dealer, lender, vendor, valuation services, service contract, insurance, and other

segments of the automotive business.

Example of our goals include building consumer awareness of quality pre-owned vehicles, and

creating a national standard with the express intent of gaining recognition by valuation guides

and lenders.

Membership is free, open, and encouraged for all executives in this space.

There are already a number of certification programs out there. Why do we need another one?

NPOSC is not a certification or inspection program. It is an industry group, promoting an industry-wide standard. If

you already inspect or certify your inventory through an existing program, ask your program provider if they are a

member of NPOSC. Chances are, they will be. If they aren’t, suggest they consider becoming a member. The cost is

negligible, and the advantages are many.

It is in everyone’s best interest to promote a uniform standard.

Be sure to use a Certification program or Inspection firm that adheres to NPOSC Standards . Visit

www.NPOSC.org for a complete list of companies and certification programs that meet NPOSC Standards.

I’m a private seller. Why should I get my vehicle inspected according to NPOSC Standards?

Inspection and Certification programs vary widely. NPOSC is designed to provide a standard of quality for used

vehicles. The NPOSC logo in your advertisement sets your vehicle apart from the sea of used cars on the market, and

represents a better value to those in the market for a quality used car

What are the benefits to the buyer under the NPOSC program?

NPOSC Approved vehicles provide peace of mind, offer less risk, and represent a better value than an ordinary used

car. An NPOSC Approved vehicle may also qualify for additional, long-term coverage under various Vehicle Service

Contract programs.

I’m a dealer. I already certify my vehicles through another program . Why should I get my vehicles inspected according to NPOSC standards?

Franchised dealers may apply for Authorized Inspector status. If you are currently participating in an OEM or other

certification program, chances are that your CPO vehicles already meet NPOSC Standards. In addition, the NPOSC

program allows you to offer quality vehicles outside your OEM CPO program- and at an extremely affordable cost.

More importantly, your customers are looking for vehicles that meet a uniform quality standard. Consumers haven’t the

time for or the interest in comparing every certification program. They’re confused about what’s covered, what’s not

covered, and who checks what. Confused prospects don’t buy.

Offering NPOSC Approved inventory also tells your prospects that you understand and care about their concerns, and

that you promote a high-quality, transparent buying experience.

I’m a dealer. How do I get my vehicles inspected according to NPOSC standards?

Franchised and select Independent dealers may apply for Authorized Inspector status, allowing them to inspect their

own inventory according to NPOSC Standards. Independent dealers may also arrange to have their vehicles

inspected by an NPOSC Authorized Inspection firm, which will come to your dealership to perform the inspection.

Refer to the list of NPOSC Authorized Inspectors found on the NPOSC.org web site to select an inspection

company.

Finally, any dealer may elect to use a Certification program or Inspection firm that adheres to NPOSC Standards .

This simplifies the process, and saves time and money, too. Visit www.NPOSC.org for a list of companies and

certification programs that meet NPOSC Standards.

I’m a private seller. How do I get my vehicles inspected according to NPOSC standards? Can I get my car NPOSC Approved?

You may choose from a list of Authorized Inspectors. You will have the option of having the inspection performed at

your home or place of business, or by visiting a local inspection facility in your area.

Upon completion of the NPOSC inspection, your NPOSC report will indicate what items (if any) would need to be

repaired to qualify for NOSPC Approved status. You may have needed repairs performed at a licensed repair facility

of your choice. Once those repairs are made, your vehicle qualifies for NPOSC Approved status.

at $99.00.
