Nowruz, the spring ‘New Year’ holiday has been celebrated for at least 2,500. Every year over 300 million people from around the world celebrate Nowruz, which originated in the geographical area called Persia in the Middle East and Central Asia. Nowruz announces the joyful awakening of nature after winter and the beginning of spring. It is a celebration of a new season and the continuation of the cycle of life and hope. At the coming of the spring equinox (March 20-21st), the earth turns green and brings hope for another great harvest for all humanity.
