LAST MEETING – January 8, 2016 – Bruce Berger; City of Davenport Sixty three members and guests attended the first meeting of 2016. Guests were Jan Touney, Matt and Sarah Bambery, all guests of Bill Tubbs. January birthdays were celebrated. Eric Langan was the sergeant and collected $52 in fines. Rich Horst introduced Bruce Berger with the City of Davenport, as the speaker. He says his job is “Customer Service” to keep area businesses satisfied with things that the Quad City area has to offer and to lure new developers to the area. Bruce spoke a lot about the relocation of the Kraft Heinz plant to the Eastern Iowa Commer-cial Park from downtown Davenport. There will be a loss of jobs when the plant first opens, but ex-pansion is expected in the future. The State of Iowa will have to construct a new road and/or widen other streets for the access the new facility will need. Please see the inside of this newsletter for information about the Special Olympics Basketball skills and other opportunities coming up soon.
