Ambassadors Speak Up! by Connor & Royce Brauer & Jaena LeGault

The new 4-H year is underway! Ask a friend to join 4-H! There are many exciting opportunities for everyone. Adults can join and share their talent and skills with young people.

Is your club seeking guest speakers? Your county 4-H Ambassadors are available to speak at club meetings. The choice of topic is up to you. Tell us what you would like to have us do. We can also engage your members in an ice breaker.

Joining Junior Leaders is a fun way to meet new friends and gain leadership experience. They usually meet the fourth Monday of the month. Members in 6th grade and up are welcome to join in the fun.

Don't forget to put the Awards and Recognition Program on your calendars for Saturday, November 12th at 1:30 PM. Come and cheer on members as they are recognized for last year's accomplishments.

Get involved in the county Meals on Wheels service project. Clubs can donate food or money to help fill food needs for those who are shut in during the colder months. Encourage your club to give back to their community. Then come and

help pack the food into individual boxes on November 22nd at 6:00 PM.

Officers Training follows packing the boxes. Have a great "Learn By Doing" 4-H year!

4-H Club Happenings Club Secretaries & Reporters: Please submit a brief report to the UW-Extension office so we can let everyone know what your club is up to. Your report should be no more than 100 words. You can email your reports to [email protected].

Next Generation: The club is starting its 4th year in 4-H. New officers were installed and there was discussion on several topics ranging from community service and fundraisers to county deadlines and committee needs. New families were introduced. The club is looking to establish its own county approved club record book. Submitted by Harley Mandel. New Horizons: September - We have service projects in the works. The educational moment was about back to school safety. Our 4-H Week theme was "4-H Grows Here." We scheduled the Mac Center photo tour. We held our club picnic and had fun playing kick ball with two energetic turkeys. October - The educational discussion was a question and answer session on life skills. We will be involved in the Meals on Wheels service project and plan to sponsor a county workshop. Cloverbuds talked about trick or treat safety.
