of a
Groundsman Core Collector This attachment is to go onto the existing aerification unit. The component in the picture
that is green is the attachment. The purpose of this piece is to collect the cores pulled from
aerification before they touch the greens surface. This will allow for far less man hours
and a much cleaner surface for sanding and brushing. The previous set up allowed the
plugs to land on the green and we would have to push/blow them to the greens edge which
takes a fair amount of man hours. As well the core collector can dump its load in one
location for removal rather than having to pick up plugs along the greens edge which also
will save man hours. With all of that good said it gets even better because we will be
putting straight sand back in the aerification holes and not the busted up plugs as they get
pushed to the greens edge.
This attachment will certainly give Tony and his crew more consistency
while aerifying the greens.
Thank You again and we will take good care of it and make good use of it.

Happy Holidays!!
The cooler temps at night have arrived and the Bermuda grass has
stopped actively growing. To insure we keep our range tee nice for the
upcoming season we must stay off the turf and remain on the mats. We
ask that you hit all iron, hybrid and fairway wood shots from the matted
area. Tees will go into the mat but it is acceptable to tee your ball up in
front of the mats. Thank you in advance for cooperation.

Hole In One Club for 2017/2018
We are continuing the Hole in One Club heading into the
start of 2018
If you already entered the HIO club during the 2017 season that
payment will carry forward to 2018
For all who have not already entered
$5.00 each Explanation: The way this works is when a member of the club
gets a verifiable hole in one, each member of the club is then
billed $5.00. This in turn will cover the expenses for the day (if you
know what I mean) for the person making a hole in one.
If interested, please let us know in the golf shop asap.
Good Luck to all!

-The Golf Staff
Greetings From the Grounds:
We are in the final push to prep the golf course for winter preparations. Our last applications of granular
fertilizer has been applied, we have achieved our winter height of cuts for areas of the golf course. We will
continue to mow greens on a regular basis and add four rolling of greens with our new roller each week to help
keep speed and smoothness for the putting surface. In December, we will be going to the three hole locations
on our greens which we will rotate every two days. We will also be changing hole locations once a month as
winter moves on. We will continue to blow leaves and remove dead trees throughout the winter. As well, we
will use a 50 foot lift to get trimming of trees done during winter months. So if you have any limb issues please
let us know so we can evaluate the situation. You will notice some new water cooler enclosures on hole 11 and
13 going forward. Please let us know what you think of them. If we get a good review, we are looking to go
ahead and replace all of the existing water cooler enclosures.
As always we will see you on the course and hit em right down the middle.
Tony Bisbee
Golf Course Superintendent
Happy Turkey Day from the staff to all of the Fox Run Members!!
