knowing, lov ing, serv ing Christ...together

Together As One is the theme of our emphasis on generosity this Fall. During November we will be considering how we as a church should strive together as one – living a generous life and walking the path set before us through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Jesus said it is more blessed to give than to receive. Generosity - whether it is your time, your energy, your witness, your gifts, your money – is part of what it means to be created in the image of God.

We will use the children’s story “Stone Soup” as an illustration of what it means to come together as one to travel that path to generosity. In that story, a community

who is usually unwilling to share, comes together to make something wonderful. When we pool our resources and work together to achieve God’s will in our lives and in the mission of the church, we are often amazed at the abundance God makes available to us. How rich are our blessings! Let God’s grace in our lives form us for meaningful and significant impact in the world.

November 10 (Week 5 of 6)

Pray as we Look to the Future

Verse: If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. -- 2 Chronicles 7:14

Insight: Satan trembles when he sees the weakest Christian on his knees. -- William Cowper (christian-quotes.ochristian.com).

Prayer Focus for the Week: • Pray for members of the Vision Team to understand the direction God wants us

to go in the coming years.• Pray that FBC will keep moving forward with the work God has called for us

to do. In those areas where we have been strong, may we “excel still more” (1 Thessalonians 4:10).

• Consider the ministries you are involved in at FBC and pray for them this week.

Philippians 1:27“Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of

Christ…striving together as one for the faith of the gospel.”

Food Drive This SundayFBC will be collecting items for the Huntsville Assistance Program. Please bring your items this Sunday and place them in the big black bins located in the East Entrance and Gathering Place. You can also help in a huge way by marking out the barcode and barcode numbers on the items you donate.
