The Mavericks are also picked to finish fourth in the NSIC South Division. Winona State was picked to finish first in the conference as the Warriors received eight first place votes and 208 total points. Placed to finish second in the NSIC is Wayne State after receiving five first place votes and 201 total points. Rounding out the top three is Sioux Falls, which nabbed three first place votes and 176 total points. The Mavericks are coming off of a 21-10 overall record and a 16-6 NSIC record from last season which earned them an NCAA Tournament berth. MSU has one lone starter coming back from last years squad in Sammie Delzotto. Delzotto, a junior guard from Eagan, Minn., was named an NSIC Player to Watch for the Mavericks this season. Delzotto started in all 31 games during her second year for the Mavericks. She logged 27.8 minutes a game last season and averaged 12.1 points and 4.7 rebounds. Delzotto also shot efficient from everywhere on the floor last season, as she shot 42% (135-325) from the field, 36% (38-106) from three-point range and 81% (67-83) from the charity stripe. The junior also collected 66 assists and 37 steals last season for the Mavericks. MSU has two exhibition games to begin its season, starting with a home contest at Taylor Center against Waldorf College, scheduled for Nov. 4 at 6:00 p.m. The Mavericks will finish their exhibition slate of games on Nov. 8 with a road trip to Madison, Wis. as MSU will take on the University of Wisconsin. Zach Monaghan7/21/15: Former Minnesota State guard Zach Monaghan has signed with the Leyma Basquet Coruna basketball team in Spain. Leyma Basquet Coruna plays in LEB Oro. A native of Palatine, Ill., Monaghan spent three seasons with the Purple and Gold and helped lead the Mavericks to three consecutive appearances in the NCAA Tournament. He started in all 100 of MSU's games during the last three seasons and earned Daktronics All-American Second Team honors during his junior season.

Connor Miller7/30/15: Former Minnesota State guard Connor Miller has signed with the Malbas Oresund basketball team. A native out of Stanley, Wis., Miller started all 32 games during MSU's 2014-15 campaign, as he averaged 11.9 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. Miller �nished second on the team in assists and steals with 122 and 32, respectively, as he earned All-NSIC Second Team and NSIC Newcomer of the Year honors.

Assem Marei9/10/15: Former Minnesota State forward Assem Marei became the third Maverick this o�season to sign free agent contract with a team in Europe as he signed with BC Siauliai out of Lithuania. A 6-9 forward from Cairo, Egypt, Marei started in 97 games for the Mavericks during the last three seasons as he �nished his career sixth all-time in scoring (1,600), second in blocks (161), second in �eld goal percentage (59.1%) and seventh rebounds (787) at Minnesota State.

Jamie Bresnahan8/27/15: Former Minnesota State forward Jamie Bresnahan has signed a contract with the Asociacion Club Jairis basketball team in Murcia, Spain. She is playing for UCAM Jairis Alcantarilla, a suburb of Murcia in the Southeastern part of the country on the Meditteranean Sea. A native of Edina, Minn., Bresnahan played four season for the Purple and Gold as she appeared in 112 games while making 91 starts. During her career, she averaged 7.8 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. She is just one of 13 Mavericks to have tallied at least 800 points and 500 rebounds during her time at MSU. She is playing both the small forward and power forward positions, enjoying the experience and adapting to the language barrier which is getting better each week. Her team is 3-2 and tied for �fth place. The fans are very vocal and passionate about their team. She is also really enjoying learning the culture and history of a very beautiful country. Her teams sponsor also allows the players to study at the University and she is currently looking to begin her Masters program after graduating last spring in Accounting.
