Solemnity of Christ the King ~ Every year on this feast, with Daniel, we ‘see the vision’ of the

Son of Man who will come and who has “received dominion, glory, and kingship”. We are also

routinely told:“all peoples, nations, and languages serve him” and “his dominion is an

everlasting dominion.” The evangelist John reflects as Jesus stands before Pilate who

questions him: “Are you the King of the Jews?” Jesus never answers the question. Rather,

Jesus’ questions make Pilate declare it: “Then you are a king.” But, perhaps the most provocative thing that Jesus

says in this conversation is: “My kingdom does not belong to this world.” People of this place called earth love to

ponder on ‘outer space’ – ‘what’s OUT there’? But Jesus invites us to ponder on ‘inner space’ – ‘what’s IN here’?

This kingdom of God is deep within us. It truly does not belong to this world because this world has such a hard

time recognizing it and staying in touch with it. This ‘inner’ kingdom is to be found at the deepest point within

our souls where God dwells for all. Here, in this innermost place within us, we find the truest answers to life and

our real meaning. Jesus tells us about this kingdom then declares: “Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to

my voice.” How true that is. Whether Catholic, Christian, Jew, Muslim, Buddhist, Sikh, Hindu; it doesn’t matter.

All hear the voice of Jesus because his voice is universal. It doesn’t even have to be acknowledged as ‘his’ voice. It

is simply the truth. And the truth that ALL religions speak is about this kingdom within that ‘knows’ the good and

the true nature of all things as given to us by God. In this kingdom, people know peace, love, goodness, caring,

forgiveness, healing, hope, kindness, joy. In this kingdom, “all peoples, nations, and languages serve him” and

“his dominion is an everlasting dominion.” Rejoice in this Feast of CHRIST, OUR KING!

HEALING — RECONCILIATION

Advent is a wonderful time to experience the cleansing and healing love through confession. Several celebrations will take place in our cluster of parishes with several priests available for the

confessions. Please note the times and places as listed in the Calendar section of our bulletin.

OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE ANNUAL PROCESSION

Theme: “Light of Peace in Justice” The Archdiocese of Los Angeles invites all faithful to celebrate and honor Our Lady of Guadalupe at their Annual Procession and Mass on Sunday, December 9th. The celebrations will begin at 10:30am at the

corner of Ford & Cesar Chavez and will conclude at the East L.A. College Stadium with Mass at 1:00p.m. presided by Archbishop José H. Gomez, Auxiliary Bishops and Priests.

ALTAR SOCIETY CHRISTMAS COLLECTION

NEXT WEEKEND, we will have a second collection. All contributions will go to the Altar Society to provide for decorations and flowers for the church at Christmas.

Solemnidad de Cristo Rey ~ Cada año en esta fiesta, con Daniel, 'tenemos la vision’ del Hijo del Hombre que

vendrá y que “recibió la soberanía, la Gloria y el reino”. También se nos dice de forma rutinaria: "Y todos los

pueblos y naciones de todas las lenguas le servían” y "su poder nunca se acabará, porque es un poder eterno".

El Evangelista Juan reflexiona como Jesús al estar ante Pilatos, lo cuestiona: "¿Eres tú el Rey de los Judios?"

Jesús nunca responde a la pregunta. Más bien, las preguntas de Jesús hacen a Pilato declarar: "Conque tú eres rey?" Pero quizás lo

más provocativo que Jesús dice en esta conversación es: "Mi reino no es de este mundo." La gente de este lugar llamado tierra les

encanta reflexionar sobre ‘el espacio’ ‘que hay ayá AFUERA'? Pero Jesús nos invita a reflexionar sobre ‘espacio interior’ - ‘¿Qué

hay aquí ADENTRO?’ Este reino de Dios está en lo profundo de nosotros. Realmente no pertenece a este mundo porque este

mundo tiene tanta dificultad para reconocerlo y estar en contacto con el. Este reino 'interior' se encuentra en lo más profundo,

dentro de nuestras almas donde habita Dios para todos. Aquí, en este lugar más íntimo, encontramos las verdaderas respuestas a

la vida y nuestro verdadero significado. Jesús nos habla de este reino, luego declara: "Todo el que es de la verdad escucha mi voz"

¿Qué tan cierto es eso? Ya sean Católicos, Cristianos, Judios, Musulmanes, Budistas, Sijs, Hindúes; No importa. Todos escuchan la

voz de Jesús, porque su voz es universal. Ni siquiera tiene que ser reconocida como ‘su’ voz. Es simplemente la verdad. Y la verdad

de que TODAS las religiones hablan es de este reino interior que 'conoce' lo bueno y la verdadera naturaleza de todas las cosas
