Clifton Springs Primary School 2021 Parent Payment Arrangement 1 November 2020 Dear Parent/Guardian Clifton Springs Primary School (CSPS) is looking forward to another great year of teaching and learning. We would like to advise you that the Department of Education has changed the way schools calculate and present the fees to the school community. We have attached the one page Parent Payment Agreement for your review, or you can visit the website https://www2.education.vic.gov.au/pal/parent-payment/guidance. Within these changes we are now unable to have blanket fees for PE, Music, STEM, Math, English, IT and Welfare equipment, so you will see many new voluntary fees which will help the school purchase specific items for the students to use. The new DET fee structure will see you receiving a savings of over $50 per student which is great. Unfortunately it does leave the above programs without funds to help purchase items they require for the 2021 year. With what you would be saving, we are inviting you to make a voluntary payment towards the other curriculum programs in order to help us continue providing your children with quality equipment for their learning. Clifton Springs Primary School makes every effort to keep the cost of items and activities to a minimum and affordable for all parents. Our suppliers offer us heavily discounted back to school prices on stationery as well as heavily discounted prices on our bulk purchases for classroom items. The Fee Schedule for each Year Level is attached, and you can refer to the index for the appropriate pages. School Council has agreed that we will not be holding a book sales day, instead all Fees will be through Compass. At the back of this booklet is a step by step guide on how to process your 2021 fees through Compass. Once your pay for your stationery, the pack will automatically be sent to your child’s classroom. Ready for their first day back at school on Friday 29 th January 2021. Payment Methods 1. In full or payment plan (with strict dates and amounts) through your Compass App 2. Payment plan for your own dates and amounts with a Credit Card through Compass Pay 3. CentrePay payment plan from your Centrelink Benefits 4. Regular bank transfer to the school account 5. PARENT PAYMENTS POLICY ONE PAGE OVERVIEW

The following is a summary of the main principles of the Parent Payments Policy:

FREE INSTRUCTION

Schools provide students with free instruction to fulfil the standard curriculum requirements as

outlined in the Victorian Curriculum F-10, VCE and VCAL.

PARENT PAYMENT REQUESTS

Schools do not ask parents to pay for school operating costs (e.g. utility costs) or general and

unspecified charges.

Schools request payments from parents under three categories:

FINANCIAL HELP FOR FAMILIES

Schools put in place financial hardship arrangements to support families who cannot pay for

items or activities so that their child doesn’t miss out.

Schools have a nominated parent payment contact person(s) that parents can have a

confidential discussion with regarding financial hardship arrangements.

SCHOOL PROCESSES

Schools obtain school council approval for their parent payment arrangements and upload

their arrangements on their school’s public website for transparency.

Voluntary Contributions CSPS continues to welcome your voluntary contributions to support our school. We would like to make note that with the implementation of the new Parent Payment Agreement, we have had to add to our Voluntary Contribution table because when the student does not take permanent ownership of items, we are unable to charge a blanket cost for some curriculum items. If you are able to add a voluntary payment towards some/all of our voluntary contributions, we would be most appreciative:

experience of students

addition to the

standard curriculum.

o These are provided to

students on a user-

pays basis.

Voluntary Contributions

o Voluntary contributions

support the school to

continue to be the best

local school for all

students and can be for

general or specific

purpose.

o Students will not be

disadvantaged in any

way if parents do not

make a contribution.
