The A&FRC Team never loses sight of the Mission, providing over 120 individualized supports to Aviano Airmen and families throughout September. The team welcomed and assisted 170 Newcomers to Aviano and coordinated “Plan My Move” for over 200 personnel leaving Aviano. In collaboration with the Aviano Airman Advisory Council, Dorm Council Leadership and Better Opportunities for Single Service Members; 700 personnel were offered an informational Voting & Volunteer event, spreading the word on voting resources and volunteer opportunities. The Team recognized Aviano Volunteers, offering two guided excursions to Lake Barcis, including a historic train ride and more. They played an active role in the planning of the “When Duty Calls Dinner” which connected 400 base personnel to valuable resources and supports. Design and Unwind continues to grow with over 100 in attendance during the most recent event- the Wyvern Volunteers have been busier than ever! The A&FRC continues to develop unique opportunities with ongoing input from the Aviano Community. In September, a survey was completed with a “Top 5”activities list for both Spouses and Single/Unaccompanied Service Members. The Cultural Adaptation Program has incorporated the #1, Cooking Classes with a Professional Chef, at a local Agriturismo in November and December.

with the

Captain Evelyn Nichols is one of our Reservist members who seamlessly integrates into the Total Force. She has been crucial to the successes of not only the Force Support Squadron, but the Fighter Wing. At the beginning of her most recent tour, she was quickly involved with the Town Hall implementation, the first one with Brigadier General Lasica. With only 2 weeks to plan and execute, she was the brains behind the venue setup and gathering of 13 subject matter experts to help our senior leaders inform base personnel and families of any updates around the Fighter Wing. She was also successful in rallying 18 Force Support Squadron activities for the Information Fair, letting Airmen and their families know what programs are available for them while they are here at Aviano Air Base. The event was implemented expeditiously with an estimated attendance of 145 members, and 2,549 views on Facebook. Capt Nichols is also highly involved in updating the Noncombatant Evacuation Order plan for Aviano, keeping Airmen, Soldiers, and families safe in the event there is an emergency. She is ready to execute any task thrown her way, and her tireless efforts do not go unnoticed. Thank you Capt Nichols!
