It’s been a busy few weeks at Buxton Infant School with everyone in-volved in activities for Anti-bullying week and Children in Need. All children took part in activities on Wednesday 15th November to coincide with National Antibullying week. The theme this year was All different All Equal and children were able to work in their mixed aged Animal teams to think about the focus and be reminded about the
schools anti-bullying approach. Art work from a number of schools in Buxton will be displayed in Morrisons and the Swimming Baths so look out for our contribution. We hope that you received you parent and carer leaflet that all children were given. If you have mislaid yours or didn’t receive one please ask in the office where there are some spare copies. On Friday it was Children in Need day and the children all had a lovely day in their pyjamas. Thank you for all your kind donations. We raised £335.60 and it’s a lovely useful reminder for our children to keep our golden rule to be Kind and Helpful.
Year one trip
Year one will be going to New Mills to see a live orchestra play the Music of the Snowman to accompany the
film. Dates are at the end of this newsletter and a letter with more information will follow.

Christmas Performances
We have had very busy this year so far and would like to say a big THANK
YOU to all our wonderful parents and carers who have helped to make our
fund-raising efforts such a success. Our first job was to decide which charity
we would like to support with our harvest collections in October. The unani-
mous choice was “WWF” and we raised a fantastic £190.58
We asked that children what they would like to do for children in Need day and
the vote showed that most people wanted to come to school wearing their pyja-
mas. We are also involved in finding out what makes the children happy at
Buxton Infants and working with children from other school councils around
Buxton. At the end of November we will be meeting Mrs Boyd to talk through
everything that we’ve done this term and what we would like to do next!
Thank you

Hello there,
Here’s the latest news from the PTA…
Firstly thank you for your support at the Autumn disco. It was great to see so many of you joining in the
fun, everyone had a fantastic time and we raised over £750!
We are very excited about the installation of the climbing wall, it is just about ready for use, children are
being introduced class by class so they can learn about how to use it safely.
Thank you for all the entries to our competition for class logo designs, they were all super. Well done to our winners,
Green sea – Lyla-Beau
Blue Sea – Lilly
Dolphins – Fraser
Seahorses – Catherine
Sharks – Harriet, and
Starfish – Charlie.
The artwork has been collated and posted off for our bags to be created. Fingers crossed bags will be ready by w/c 11th Decem-
ber. Thank you for all pre-orders – it’s still not too late to place orders.
Our next PTA meet and greet will be held on Tuesday 28th November at The Old Sun pub from 7:30. This will be the perfect op-
portunity for us to get organised for our Christmas event.
Our Christmas Fun time event will be taking place on Monday 18th December, a letter will be sent out next week with all the de-
tails you need. We will be holding a ‘Wear something Christmassy’ event day on Friday 8th December to raise chocolate and
bottle donations for our tombola.
Don’t forget you can join our closed facebook group by searching Buxton Infant School PTA, you can also join our email list by
contacting us on [email protected]
Many thanks,
Laura Bowers (Chair of the PTA)
